That is the one thing in life that always annoys me. How is it that people who act it all up infront of people and generally don't care for anyone's interest but their own, luck their way in life?

Yep, I think that has hurt my search for dates and that. I dno about anyone else, or yourself, but I always fear the word "no", even when it is only a word. I also sometimes feel apathetic about it when I feel that i'll never measure up to these guys in girl's eyes.

Exactly. I have the very same issue with the person I mentioned on Sunday in the chat. At the end of the day, if they say "no", I won't be any worse off than I am now. But all the same, it's the scariest thing at times.

And the thing is, it's not like I don't receive any compliments that should boost my confidence. A girl I know has spent the past couple of weeks telling me that I'm great/cute/adorable etc., but none of that has made me feel any better about myself >.<

Yup self doubt is always there isn't it. And that is what worries me. If I got a date, what the hell to do. Would I have confidence within the relationship.

Is this only a stumbling block, once i'm in a relationship would I be fine, or would I always be a perfectionist or frett about everything - basically spoil it from within?

Yeah, it sucks. I have no prior experience of relationships, so I really haven't got a clue what would happen should I actually find myself in one.

Yeah, it sucks. I have no prior experience of relationships, so I really haven't got a clue what would happen should I actually find myself in one.

Ditto, man I suppose it is good to know your not alone in these things. Sometimes I feel quite depressed about things like that, you can feel so isolated. I think it hasn't made me as good a person as I could be. I mean I have alot of offer I think, but I just kinda conceal it all.

I've tried talking to some girls, but sometimes because i'm quiet I either screw up the conversation, or they think im weird, or if I don't say much they think im big headed. Where can you go to find the middle ground?

Not all girls 'dig' the dangerous type.
I know they're tossers, so I keep away.
A lot of girls do too.
It's just the pretty ones or the ones that you've got your eye on that go for those types of guys, I guess.
Like, for the past four years...
My love life contained a cyclist and a guy studying law.
So no, not all girls go for that type of guy.

Sounds to me that the fear of failure is what is screwing you guys up. You cant think like that. You’re setting yourself up for failure before you even talk to the darn girl!

Its not that hard really. Now, I’ve been turned down a lot too. Probably more than I would like lol. But who cares!! I’m not just gonna mope around after I’ve been turned down, its part of the experience, and its part of life.

I want to help you dude, I found these out by trial and error, and anyone else here should add if I forgot anything.

1. Confidence. I’ve said this countless times, chicks like confidence. Why? I haven’t a clue (I’m pretty sure Shani and Han can tell us why) but my friend told me, and a lot of other girls, that they like confidence in a man.

2. Be yourself. Don’t change who you are just to attract some one who simply isn’t interested in you. Plus, do you really want to attract someone for the wrong reasons?

3. Don’t fear failure. If a girl isn’t interested in you, who F***ing cares!!! I cant put it any simpler than that, and emphasize it any better. Chances of you finding your one and only on the first try are slim to none. When Thomas Edison invented the light bulb, did he get it on the first try? No, he had countless failures beforehand.

So chill out dude!! You still have a lot of time, we’re still young!! Heck, my long jump coach didn’t get married til he was 55. Why? Because he said he’d “rather marry late, than marry the wrong woman.”

But a guy who's cocky turns me off :/

I guess you're attracted to them cos if a guy is confident in themself,
they seem to know that they're attractive kind of thing.
I don't know how to explain it...
But to put it bluntly
If a guy finds themselves attractive, it's easier for girls to find them attractive.

and it really can come at anytime, and from anywhere , nice guys dont always finish last, and tossers may seem to get all the girls [usually the blonde boring bimbos lol], but often eventually they end up alone cause they are tossers, where as caring guys may just find that one special girl and be set. i am the latter

You would be fine once in the relationship because after that initial bit you find all the things you have in common and you stop trying to impress. It's completely different when you're in a relationship.

Girls do like confidence, but confidence within oneself,not as someone else just said, being cocky, thats a complete turnoff. Don't try to be what you arent, it wont work, but be confident in what you are. You've got to like and value yourself if you want others to do the same.
And if some girl says "No" So bloody what? Her loss!!
