Yeah Williams versus new teams.
They'd still be winning something.

I like Williams but can't see them returning back to the top tbh.
I hope they do though.

I think it's quite possible, however I do think they would have to be in a situation like they were with BMW unless the regulations were a lot looser and they could innovate. If they get a major engine supplier behind them (they could try tempting Audi, for example) then they might be in with a chance.

BMW want to supply engines to teams next year. Do you think Williams will be tempted to run BMW engines again?

Possibly, but didn't they have the option to run BMW engines in 2006 and not take it up? I definitely think that the BMW engine has more power than the Toyota engine.

I dont know, but I wont be surprised if that '06 option is true because of Williams' stubbornness. If I were Williams I would get in contact with BMW, it might not be as reliable as the Toyota but it is probably more powerful, like you said. They could go for Renault too because dont Red Bull want to switch to Merc engines?

Williams-Renault :cloud9:

i would absolutly hate that!
infact id go as far to say i may not support them if that happened! lol

:yikes:

I think he just prefers Renault being a team in its own right.

Even though they currently supply another team... >.>

I don't see what the problem would be, however I'd rather see Williams-Audi than anything else, at present. You know, provided Audi wanted to enter and built some good engines. :)

Nico racing for McLaren next year. Check the head lines....

The signs are growing that Nico Rosberg is set to move from Williams to the Mercedes-powered McLaren team at the end of the season as Mercedes competition boss Norbert Haug speaks in ever more flattering tones about the 24-year-old, who is openly assessing his options at the end of his current contract.

Haug admits he is keen to see a compatriot at the wheel of the so-called 'silver arrows', while McLaren figures have so far been non-committal when asked about Heikki Kovalainen's chances of remaining at the team beyond the year.

"We must set ourselves up to win races and championships, and if this can be done with a German driver, all the better," Haug said in an interview with the SID news agency.

He admits that recent efforts have been made to unite the three-pointed Mercedes star with a German.

"In the past ten years we tried with Michael Schumacher, Nico Rosberg and Sebastian Vettel," said Haug, who admits contractual hurdles thwarted deals being done with the latter two.

Rosberg however is a free agent for next year, and Haug said that since making his debut in 2006 the German racer has ‘earned a Formula One ritterschlag (knighthood)’.

Haug said the team is currently contemplating its next driver line-up but would prefer not to speak about those musings in the media.

"Perhaps our drivers will remain the same, perhaps they will change," he admitted. "At the moment I don't think there is large time pressure. It can be decided in the next couple of months."

I'll be sad if it happens, but I guess also happy if it means he gets to fight for race wins and championships. I'd still prefer to see that happen with Williams, though.
