What's this; England winning a test match against the Aussies; take a picture and frame it... but seriously well done to Ricky Ponting for being gracious in defeat! The Aussies haven't always been gracious in defeat over the years especially against England! Can England go on and win the series now?!?!... fingers crossed!

I don't like Ricky Ponting.
At all.

A lot of people don't.

He's digging us into a hole. ><

Just look at it this way next time round you won't have Flintoff to annoy you.

yeah he isnt the most popular Captain we have had. i wouldn't call him gracious in defeat either.

Ah I remember the battles between Pietersen and Warne in the 2006/7 Ashes, talk about a battle of egos.

Ponting was gracious in this defeat admitting that his team were comprehensively outplayed!

yeah he was at the end of the match there but overall he has alot of issues i think, like in the first test he was whinging about time wasting by England and then to the lead up of the 2nd test questioned Flintoffs timing of his retirement announcement.

I didn't know about the other incidents; I haven't been following the cricket as intently as I normally would do! Mainly keeping up with scores rather than the reaction!

I think he had a point with the first statement. We were holding up the game during the closing minutes of the first test, I found it a little embarrassing and so did the players at the crease, it was quite unsporting but fortunately only a minor event. I also think he has a right to complain about the inconsistency of the umpiring decisions lately. Overall I don't think he's been too bad in this series, although I've disliked his behavious in the past on occasion.
