Le coeur a ses raisons que la raison ne connaît point.
But I found this interesting series of speculations:
What will happen to McLaren if they are disqualified on Thursday for one or two years?
Could McLaren sell their spot on the grid to Mercedes, allowing the team to race, but under a new name and management? Ron Dennis could take early retirement, sell his stake and save the teams position for 2008. Mercedes would finally have their own F1 team.
What about Prodrive? Could Mercedes take over the current McLaren team and Ron Dennis sell the McLaren name to Prodrive, thus saving the McLaren name in F1.
Put yourself in RD's shoes. What would you do? Could any of the outlined options be viable or on the other hand impermissible according to FIA regs?
