McLaren have a reputation of poaching Williams drivers

Not McLaren's fault that drivers want to be in a recently competitive team :P:hehe:

But the former is regaining competitiveness whilst the other has slipped back this year... ;)

But all the same I wouldn't mind seeing proper Williams vs McLaren battles once again. :D

I don't think Rosberg is going anywhere. Williams are really improving - they finished ahead of the Brawns on merit in Germany and ahead of Button on merit at Silverstone. They've passed Toyota in my opinion and if Ferrari focus fully on the 2010 car, Williams will most likely be best of the rest behind Red Bull and Brawn. There are some tracks coming up that I think Williams and Rosberg will do very well on with the FW31, notably Hungary and Singapore. Valencia and Abu Dhabi could be a similar story, so podiums (and maybe even a win) are not out of the question.

I tend to agree, though Rosberg was rumored to have wanted to leave in past years, he stated very clearly in Monaco that he was happy to stay with Williams.

Not sure why people keep saying he wants to leave the team, its clearly not the case.

I think it's all hysteria controlled by Wili Weber as he is very desperate to have Hulkenberg in the Williams for 2010.

I'm having a hard time liking Hulkenburg.

Was it the fact two years in a row he beached a new Williams in the gravel during a car launch test when he's supposed to be just giving the car a simple shakedown? ;)

Mind you I suppose it must be just a Williams driver thing, because Mansell beached the FW14 in a muddy gravel trap during its shakedown. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tGlUQ7nbdk:hehe:

And what a car that was. Maybe it's a good omen for Hulkenburg. What a name by the way; sounds like the kind of gimp Max Mosley would employ for one of his Nazi orgies.

I'm not too sad to see the back of Bourdais, he wasn't a bad driver but he had a serious lack of charisma. He was one of the few drivers who seemed like he had fulfilled his potential just by being near the back of the grid. F1's a cruel world, but it's usually a fair one.

Next season has to be

Brawn V Ferrari V McLaren V RedBull

Drivers To fight it out

Jenson - Nico (Brawn) - Alonso (Ferrari) - Massa - Vettel (McLaren) - Lewis - Webber -

that will be a thrilling season, given that all 4 teams' cars are on par with eachother :clap:

if only it really works out that way :(

Would be a beautiful season.

Hopefully Brawn will ditch their colour scheme next season.

:nono:

If Monster become the main Sponsor then Black and Green could be the main colours of 2010 :P

P.s - Check the edited post above ^^^

Yeah, but that's a lime green rather than this ridiculous highlighter pen effort!

I wonder if he likes his woman like he likes his F1 cars?

Tacky :whip:

I wouldn't be too sure about Brawn. Let's see how funding goes for them first.
Forgetting the likes of BMW could also be back - maybe that is a better option for Rosberg?

Well yeah as there budget is not that bad really? But i could see him suiting there more. But Vettel to McLaren would be awesome

It depends really. I think winning the titles could be vital for Brawn in terms of how much money they can ask from potential investors and sponsors.

Renault seem to be able to snap up some good deals. Like with MegaFon?
And to be honest, Not insulting anyone but they are :censored: so i think Brawn will have to make a better marketing scheme fo a company. But needs to offer a better colour scheme :yuck:

But Vettel to McLaren would be awesome

Vettel to McLaren would be awesome but I don't see it happening Vettel is obviously very talented and is very marketable which would bring even more money into the team :)

McLaren would offer a competitive wage package compared to many other teams. I think the major players for his contract would be Ferrari, McLaren, Brawn & BMW. But then he is a very spiritual man in which he would stay loyal to his country by going for a German team.

No. I normally dont judge a book by its cover, but this guy seems to be a douche, hope he proves me wrong though. Algy seems to be a douche too.

Rosberg in a Brawn? I never really considered that. I think it could be an interesting mix, Him and Button. But i think that he should also consider another season at williams. they are getting there could be in the mix this season and can be competative next year. I think another season at williams could be helpful.
Vettel in a mcclaren. hmm that would be a sight to see! but again i would consider staying at red bull. he could be the driver that makes them, i guess does he want to be a big money maker at mcclaren, a red bull racing legend or will he simply move to the bigger teams as all the greats do? Hamilton vs Vettel in mcclarens, i wouldnt mind seeing that too! I wouldt like it if he went to ferrari though.

Trulli closing on new Toyota deal
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/77078

By Jonathan Noble Sunday, July 19th 2009, 14:10 GMT

Jarno Trulli is mulling over an offer to remain at Toyota for 2010, AUTOSPORT has learned, after declaring his firm intention to remain in Formula 1 next year.

The Italian has started 208 grands prix and there had been speculation that he could hang up his helmet at the end of the year so he could focus on family life and his successful wine business.

However, Trulli has told AUTOSPORT that he is fired up to extend his F1 career on the back of some encouraging performances this year for Toyota.

And, with sources claiming that Kimi Raikkonen has rejected an approach to join Toyota next year, the Japanese manufacturer has now made a firm offer to Trulli for him to remain on board.

"At the moment I am driving, and really enjoying it," Trulli told AUTOSPORT about his thoughts for the future. "As long as you drive quick there is no reason to be concerned.

"Obviously you don't know what is going to happen, as it is hard to see where F1 is heading to at the moment, but that will all be clear soon.

"I am happy about my performance and confidence. And for sure in my mind I don't have the feeling I want to stop because I feel I have a lot to do. I feel very strong and very competitive, so I just hope I can stay in F1 and I am confident, but it is difficult to talk at the moment because the teams are busy doing other things at the moment."

Rather than feeling weary after more than a decade in grand prix racing, Trulli believes his years of experience in F1 are actually proving a benefit.

"I am pretty happy with the season. I am doing very well, I am driving very well, and I am very consistent and very strong during qualifying and the race. At the moment it is good and I am happy with the car.

"We are competitive, so every weekend there is a chance of showing a good result, and I have the experience to get it right nearly every time. When you fight and you know you have a small chance of getting on the podium or top five, then with experience you can have confidence to fight a lot, which is helping me a lot."

And he concedes that having not achieved Toyota's maiden victory yet is leaving him with a feeling of unfinished business.

"This is still one of my targets which I am strongly chasing this year, and still believing in it," he said. "Even though there is a gap and we can all see it, giving the car I have I still hope I can make it - whether it is now, next weekend, or a special weekend. It is there and you have to be ready to catch it."

I suppose Trulli has had a reasonable season, but I'm surprised they haven't tried to hold onto Glock and replace Trulli with kobayashi. Does that mean Glock could be leaving Toyota and the team are holding onto Trulli for experience?
