Felipe Massa, you know that F1 man, Brazilian, drives a Ferrari.

I'm well aware who Massa is, thanks. What I want to know is why you think Massa deserved the 2008 title morally?

Right I'm glad we both are on about the same person :hehe:
Well when I wrote that I noticed it was a silly thing to say, because no driver or anyone can win on morals, and I don't even know any of Massa's morals (no drinking?, no smoking?), but I mean, I guess, he is defo the nicer guy.
I know "why didn't I just say that in the first place?"

Dunno.

Jenson Button cheekily reckons he's "the best" racing driver in history.

Although he's currently sitting at the top of Formula One, having claimed six victories in the opening eight races of this year's Championship, the Brit's road to success has been anything but simple.

In fact, it has also been anything but a hint that he's the greatest.

And yet that's how Button billed himself when the affable Piers Morgan, interviewing him for August's GQ Magazine, asked the Brawn GP driver for his opinion on the greatest racing driver in history.

"Me, I'm the best," was Button's response. No doubt with his tongue firmly in his cheek.

The interview also touched on last year's Championship success by fellow Brit Lewis Hamilton.

Asked for his thoughts on Hamilton's 2008 title, 29-year-old said: "It doesn't matter who wins if I don't. I only care if I win.

"I'm jealous of anyone else who wins.

"But him winning was great for the sport and good for me because I was able to get my head down without much attention and get a great car sorted out.

"I didn't have to worry about people writing rubbish about me because Lewis was getting it all."

The two Brits, though, have had a remarkable turnaround in form this season. While Button from being lapped to winning races and doing the lapping himself, Hamilton has gone from race winner to the chap finishing a lap down.

As such Button has already put a lap on Hamilton on more than one occasions this season but instead of crowing about it, he has a bit of sympathy for the trials the McLaren driver is having to go through.

"I know everyone loved that! Lewis was asked about it on the BBC and he said nothing," he said when asked what it was like to lap Hamilton.

"But he's in a difficult situation now, the kind I've been in a lot before, and it's tough for him but we'll see what he's really made of, and I think we'll find he's mentally strong, and very quick, and will come through it well."

Button is :hehe:

In no particular order

[*] Alonso - I detested him in 2007, but then I'm British so what do you expect. However since that rivalry has died I've begun to appreciate Fernando once more, he's exceptional even in a poor car.

[*] Hamilton - He's young and clearly a natural talent not to mention excellent in the rain.

Now it gets harder...
[*] Vettel - He could still be moved out of my top 5 given some time but I'm judging this on his potential, which was noted way before he got the current car.

[*] Massa - He seems to have a lot of flaws but on his day he's a great driver

[*] Rubens? - The question mark is simply because I'm finding it hard to pick someone but given his long career, and the company he managed to keep up with, I'll give it to him.

Nothing could ever induce me to vote for Raikkonen who never seems to put any effort into racing, it's almost like he wishes he wasn't there, especially this season. However, even when he does try, he just doesn't look very special to me. I'll forever be upset that he got the WDC.

:bs:

Some people just dont get Kimi. Now I agree that he probably didnt apply himself last year, but did you not watch the F1 seasons before 2008?? He nearly won the title twice, and could've had them if the McLaren was reliable. He may seem like he doesnt put any effort, but thats just the way he is, hence the nickname 'iceman.'

I did watch pre 2008 and I still don't really rate him, although I'll admit I'm possibly/probably slightly biased as I can't stand the man.

1. Lewis Hamilton - I think i don't need to explain. Fast, young, talented, interesting. He's the one who made F1 great for 2 years.

Not true...

5. Robert Kubica - Mr.Consistent

Also not true :P

Edit: Whoops. Didn't actually mean to double-post >.<

Please explain, what's wrong with my ratings on Hamilton. Fast - must be true. Young - Absaolutely. Talented - He beated Alonso in his FIRST year. Interesting - Very agressive and makes a lot of overtakes when necessary. If you're not okay with me placing him first, it's okay - I don't need everyone praising him but beating Alonso in 2007 made it clear to me. Last year also, there was no one who could stop him. Only thing that made last year exciting were his stupid mistakes which disappear while he get's older and also Belgium killed his momentum, but he fought back.

Kubica was great all year long in 2008 but in the end something happened. Maybe too optimistic to put him to 5th position while he hasn't proved nothing. Maybe put Button on 5th place, he's VERY consistent this year.

What has Vettel proved? This year is a f***-up for F1. Last year's Italy he was fortunate it started raining at wrong time so Hamilton couldn't get a better starting position. He was a beast and made like 10 overtakes. Vettel had to fight with Kovalainen, Bourdais and Webber. I agree - he's better than them.

Can't say nothing about Rosberg, Williams haven't put up a considerable car for years.

He beat Alonso just because he was driving in a British team that was desperately trying to have a British champion.
If the team were Spanish, things would have been totally different.

Alonso didn't actually get beaten by him.

Seriously wtf are you talking about. If you get more points than other driver thats beating him. And this is a silly excuse that McLaren treated him differently.

Alonso didn't actually get beaten by him.

Actually he did.

How? they got same points.
