If there is one driver in F1 that I wanted to win a race more than anyone; it would be Mark Webber; maybe his six years of unluckiness is over in his seventh season!

I think it'll be a royal battle between Webber and Vettel now with only 1.5 points between the two Red Bull drivers!

Gee, it's been a while since I posted something on this site. I've just been very busy, and probably won't post anything for another month or so. That was the greatest race I ever watched, and my heart absolutely sank when Webber got that drive-through penalty! Because I instantly thought his bad luck was striking back again. :(

I'm absolutely torn between the two drivers of my team - I love them both equally as much. I'd be really happy if Vettel wins the Driver's Championship, but I'd be ecstatic if Webber won it. I cannot see Brawn's car improving, so I'm quite sure that Red Bull will win the Constructors championship. The WDC might be a bit harder to call, because both of the drivers are as good as each other. But Button has to start finishing ahead of both of the Red Bulls.

I think Vettel will win in Hungary, and Webber will win at Valencia. Spa is a mystery.

I think it was fantastic direction from the team to get Webber to take his drive through penalty when he did, as it put right back into the race action. :D

yes great win for webber..... and unlucky for Lewis as the car and the driver looked like they would take some beating sunday...
its going to be a good second half of the season with some of the other cars now in better race shape and although Mclaren and fozza cant win it they will be having some say on who does as the current leaders will not win every race now....

Despite being a huge Vettel fan, I can't begrudge Webber this win - he was awesome. I'm glad he finally got a win :D it was totally deserved, and he won on merit, too, not because of others misfortune.

He did an awesome job with the drive through penalty also against him? Great performance.

From F1 Live:

In F1's August break following the forthcoming Hungarian Grand Prix, Nurburgring winner Mark Webber will have more surgery on his right leg.

The 32-year-old Australian, who dominated from pole position last weekend, had two locking screws removed from the leg, which was badly broken in a winter cycling incident, before the German Grand Prix.

Webber told Germany's Bild newspaper that the remaining screws will come out "in August".

"The titanium rod is coming out only after the season -- and then the bump (visible in his shin) will disappear," he revealed.

Hans-Joachim Stuck, a former German Formula One driver and motor racing official, said he asked to see the Red Bull driver's injury in the Nurburgring paddock.

"It still looks pretty bad," he said. "There is a big bump, and scars. It really is a miracle that he can work with full power," added Stuck.

Before the 2009 season, Webber - who also broke his shoulder in the cycling crash - insisted he was fit enough to drive, but he now admits he was being overly optimistic.

"I think I was kidding myself a bit," the Australian said. "It is absolutely clear that the leg was a long way from healed and it was still broken.

"It was just the metal holding it in place, so it has come a long way since then," he added.

Red Bull made a mistake in not appointing Sebastian Vettel the team's number 1 driver prior to the German Grand Prix, according to Ralf Schumacher.

The former Grand Prix winner believes the outfit led by Christian Horner should have ensured Vettel was not beaten to the chequered flag at the Nurburgring by dominant pole sitter, winner and teammate Mark Webber.

"There are no team orders at Red Bull, where the sport is in the foreground," Schumacher, who lost his Toyota seat at the end of the 2007 season, told the German newspaper Bild.

"But at a team that is competing for the World Championship, that is actually an error. Sebastian is the stronger driver and he should be collecting every point he can," the 34-year-old, who now races for Mercedes in the DTM series, added.

"On the other hand, it was Webber's first win after many years in Formula One and they didn't want to take it away from him."

"In a sporting sense that is certainly right, but (it was) an error with regards to the title," Schumacher, a winner of six Grand Prix for Williams, said.

Ralf firstly Redbull did not LET Webber win, he was faster!
Second would you have had him slow down for 20 seconds just so Vettel can get the win?
Thirdly stronger driver? 2 wins to 1 win 6 podiums a piece yeah that is a dominant record for one driver....

how about you stick to DTM where you cant even get decent form and leave F1 in your past.

More bollocks from Ralf Schumacher. Stick to driving your road cars and leave Formula One to those how know what they're doing. :loser:

Ahem I think your giving him too much credit when you say he's actually "driving" in the DTM. More like sinking.

I didn't know Webber broke his shoulder as well!! :yikes:

Given that his only two non-points scoring races were basically caused by being hit at the first corner and blocked in qualifying... absolutely incredible really.

Ralf Schumacher doesn't know anything about competing for the championship, why does he think anyone would listen to him? :hehe:
