I felt for Rubens today, it all looked like it was going his way after a great start but then that awful pit stop, the tyre degredation and a poor strategy meant he didn't stand a chance. Finishing behind Button must have made it even more frustrating but he should have kept his feelings away from the public eye, at least until he'd discussed the facts with the Brawn team.

I just saw his comments on BBC website, poor guy, he is clearly upset and yes from what happened with Ferrari and the Michael favouritism, he should be paranoid and its ashame his race was ruined and to the point that he doesnt even want to speak to the team

I feel for Rubens too.Hes the most experienced driver in F1 history.and hes gone through this in Ferrari ,now its happening again.
If you look at the whole season Rubens has suffered on more than 1 occasion because of Brawn Gp team decisions and it end up benefiting Jenson which is more annoying if you put yourself in Rubens shoes.
And about going public, its all well known how he feels and at this stage in his career he doesn't really care what others think, hes been hard one by just a little too much.

They were beat fair and square today by both Ferrari and Williams, and almost Renault.

and if Lewis didnt get the puncture a McLaren would have beaten them too!

He wasnt the only one who got excited lol :hehe:

Fair play to Kovalinen though, considering his car was left unchanged from the upgrades he didnt do too bad either

 Shame his tyre caught Webbers wing, what a start!

Rubens is not the first and will not be the last to call his team in public..most of them do it at some point. They are interviewed at an emotional time when they are pumped up and they are racing drivers not politicians. It felt realy sorry for him. What does the guy have to do. I wonder if more was resting on this?? I wonder if he'd been told if Button pulls further ahead or reaches so many points then the team get behind him for the rest of the season to fend off the red Bulls for the drivers title? He sounded so pissed off.

I felt sorry for Rubens today. I thought he had been switched to the 2 stop, not realising the fuel rig had failed. I think he will get frustrated if he keeps being expected to switch for Button. Fair enough (almost) if its at a vital point when Rubens has nothing to race for, but not when he still has a chance himself.
I agree, Rubens wears his heart on his sleeve, but thats what makes the fans like him so much. I think that he needs to relax, this isnt ferrari all over again, although he can maybe see it heading down that road. Keep fighting Rubens and dont take anything lying down.

His comments in the team's press release were different:

(probably manufactured, but he did at least admit he had jumped the gun a bit)

“I had a great start today and was really pleased to have got ahead of Markdown into the first corner despite our collision. After leading on the first lap, it is of course hugely disappointing to have finished in sixth position. It was a combination of things really which are now very clear to me having spoken to the team. We didn’t have enough pace compared to the Red Bulls to win but the fuel rig problem at my second stop where we had to switch rigs probably cost me a place on the podium. That dropped me out behind Rosberg and the extra lap which Jenson had at our final stops was enough for him to get ahead of me. We’ll put this race behind and work really hard ahead to Hungary to try and catch up to the Red Bulls. Congratulations to Mark for his first win.”

Brawn seemed to be okay about the incident:

Brawn says Barrichello just frustrated

By Edd Straw and Pablo Elizalde Sunday, July 12th 2009, 16:30 GMT

Team boss Ross Brawn has downplayed the significance of Rubens Barrichello's comments after the German Grand Prix.

Barrichello accused his team of having lost him the race with the strategy and the problems during one of his pitstops.

The angry Brazilian added that he did not want to hear excuses.

"To be honest, I wish I could just get on a plane and go home now. I don't want to talk to anyone in the team, because it would be a lot of bla, bla, bla, bla... And I don't want to hear that. I'm just terribly upset," he said.

Brawn, however, believes Barrichello's comment scame in the heat of the moment and said the Brazilian had moved on already.

"I think that is a frustrated racing driver," said Brawn. "When you put so much into a race and it hasn't worked out, then that is what you get sometimes.

"If you get out of the car thinking you should have won the race and you haven't got all the facts, then that can happen. Now he has the facts and understands what happens, he is fine."

The team boss also reckons Barrichello will understand he just wasn't fast enough to win the race.

"It's a passion some drivers have," he added. "But I want to have a look at exactly what he said and be clear, but he understands now what happened in the race. Rubens had the 11th fastest time in the race today.

"You cannot win a race, whatever strategy you have, if your best lap is only 11th quickest. It is just not possible. Those are the facts.

"Once he calms down, the problems we have is to go quicker. Today we were not quick enough and we have to respond because if we don't we will throw the championship away."

He added: "I will understand the whole situation first before we say anything. In the heat of the moment these things happen. We want to understand the whole picture and what he said.

"Rubens has been a very important member of the team. He stuck with the team through very difficult times, he has a lot of loyalty to the team and that is not something that will be destroyed with a few frustrated words after a race."

Good on Ross for understanding Rubens frustration which is why he is such a great team leader.

how did he get too excited he got nudged by mark Webber if he hadn't been rear ended he would of kept it on the road and been 1st or 2nd.

I watched Rubens post race comments. I was absolutely gutted for him, he was desperately upset. The refuelling threw him as well. Delighted for Mark, it was a long time coming, the lad was in tears and a worthy winner despite his penalty. Also delighted for Felippe, back on the podium at long last. My guy, omg, I watched the start and saw the KERS kick in and thought maybe today, then just when you think its going to be a good day for Lewis, he gets that puncture in the first corner. Jeez he must have smashed a mirror this morning. At least McLaren have a decent enough car now to be up there. Maybe after all the second half is going to be worth watching with Red Bull and Brawn battling it out to the end. Enjoyed the race

Shame for Barrichelolo, he is probably the most emotional F1 driver as in he wants the best kind of thing.
Hamilton might not have done as well as promised, I mean look where Kovy finished.
