Ayrton Senna is the only famous person and somebody whom I've never met I feel emotionally connected to, due to his charisma. I think Roger Federer is great, too, but he doesn't talk as philosophically as Senna about his sport, life, etc.

Not to be an arse or anything, but I dont get why people get so sad when people die. Its part of life, and its gonna happen. Even when my family members die, I dont really get sad about it, because I prefer to think of the good times we had instead of moping around. But hey this just what I think, which is probably why I wont live to be old.


The only time I think death is sad, is when a kid is killed because they havent even started their life yet. Or when people are innocently killed.


Edit: what does make me sad though is the way people die, not death itself.

That awesome, because you deal with stuff different to others. In which i can respect. Just some people may have had a loss in there life were they feel they need someone to inspire them ,i never really had a father to egg me on?

So Michael Schumacher was a real family man, I wanted a father like that to get me to do more things with my life. But i saw him and just loved the person he was. So he got me into sports and i have won allot of things in my life, it was down to the inspiration to win.

I felt a great personal loss when Senna died and even got teary eyed.

it's human, like..I loved the talented man that MJ was, not them man behind the hat. hence why the lost is more greater than the keep. His legacy is greater than him still walking the earth. I'm a guy that never cries, but to some people i just admire them, to the extent of were they win, i feel the burn, when they lose i feel the loss too....In which is real sports, and anyone who can feel that will understand that extent of how far sports can go! Like Lorenzo, to me he looks like a very small boy that only wants to win. I have read all about him, his story is just amazing. & now i support him more than i used too, because once you understand them, you see how much it means to win. A little Off Topic, but it clicked in some where lol.

That's a pretty cool thing MF, when you have children or Grandchildren, you can show them Senna and he could inspire them?

Inspiration is a beautiful thing, if only we had better inspirations now days

rive,ca- great post .very true statement. betty page was lucky to die on my birthday. the day denis jenkinson was born. miss him/his writing. miss my friend paul newman/art/drinking/fishing buddy. miss my father. still sad about senna, but most about gilles. still cry/the void is so great that all my art will never fill it. let's not forget stefan bellof.in the belief that he would have been germany's 1 st w/champ. burt.

I was truelly devastated when Bellof passed as I was unfortunate enough to be watching that race and saw his crash, truelly a driver of great skill and character.

bruce Lee is an amazing legend, i wish i got the chance to witness some of his work. But unfortunately never got the chance, watch DRAGON. An amazing film. Really makes me see what a cruel world this is, but also what true love is, in which i am blessed to have with my future wife

I think Colin Mcrae was probably my biggest inspiration in motorsports, , ive never cried since i was a kid but was totally choked up the day he died

My two sporting heroes at the moment are Roger Federer and Ronnie O'Sullivan but I'm not sure I'd be that emotional if something happened to them, maybe it's just improbable that anything will happen at the moment so it's beyond my imagination. Converseley, I wasn't old enough to watch Senna racing but I've done enough research and watched enough footage to feel incredibly sad when I think about Imola 1994. I think the thing that upsets me most is when people die without warning, for sportsmen that can often happen in the public eye and that's what I find hits me the hardest.
