I can see where the researchers are going, but I think that is generalizing and stupid.

I watch a Football game doesn't mean I am going out to play Football.
I watch Tiger Woods kick some azz on the golf course doesn't mean I am going to play 9 holes
Watch a basketball game, "I ain't running up and down the court for 45 min" :hehe:

I'll be the first to admit I drive fast, but it has nothing to do with F1. I don't emulate F1, F1 emulates my lifestyle. If there were no motorsports, I still would be driving fast.

I dont think this is true either. I have a cousin who is just as big a race nut as I am, but drives normal. I do drive pretty stupid sometimes though, I've passed people on the shoulder before because they wont get out of my way. I think driving dangerous has to do with you being stupid, race fan or not.

Well all I can say to that is bullsh!t.

I've seen lots of idiotic boy racers out there and some of them probably think F1 and Motorsport in general is about as exciting as watching paint dry. All they care about is "how many birds they can pull" driving like idiots.

Feh. I think it probably makes a lot of us better drivers to be honest. Formula One isn't impressive because of all-out speed (Not that that isn't there) but because of the precision and skill.
