I don't believe Danica would be able to compete in F1 much higher than a few cars in from the back of the field. She has shown a bit of a nasty temper more than once. And she has said she has no plans to leave IRL. All in all its not the image I'd hope for to "represent America" on an international stage. Who wants to watch her finish 18th than beat up poor Piquet for almost crashing her out?

I totally agree.

Her performances on road courses are average at best, and she cant setup her car. So when a 4 time Champ Car champion is currently struggling in F1, why do people think a winless woman driver on road courses has what it takes for F1? If she is signed it will be purely for publicity and sponsorship.

I have no doubt there are quite talented female drivers out there, but if Danica is put in an F1 car...I will be thoroughly disgusted. She does not have the talent to warrant such a consideration. Quite cute, but not an F1 driver by any stretch of the imagination. The thought of watching my flag get destroyed race in and race out is bad enough.....please dear god let them at least put a real driver in the car. I'm thinking Alonso would look great with stars and stripes. I would even...geeze, I can't believe I'm about to type this.....I would even accept....oh god....boobie man as a driver. :boobies: I'm just not sure the universe would ever right itself if racechic and I were cheering the same team. Ewman might bring his exploding world graphic again if that were to happen. I suppose I could claim I was backing my flag and she could claim she was cheering on Montoya's breasts. :hehe:

Alonso  dream on!! Even Juany-babe, he wont come back for a new little team, he's had offers before (No not from me!! :D ). So that brings us back to Danica. She may not be good enough only time will tell, but she does ok and beats drives who are rated. But ude better watch out Bill cos if she comes I might have to don the stars and stripes just for a bit of female unity.

In answer to some other comments about her:-
"She'd have to learn to set he car up". Doh! Yes, so does everyone.

Not strong enough. Cop out statement. She'll excercise. Specially she do that neck thing

I seen a Nascar documentary on National Geographic about Montoya and hell he's fairly put on the pounds.
And he's still a complete w***er. Blaming everyone but himself. He went through something like 3 crew chiefs in as many races or something

While I am quite certain she could find plenty of ways to exercise her neck, setting up a car is not something you can just decide to learn any more than having mechanical aptitude is. You either are mechanically inclined or you are not. You either understand the physics behind a car's handling or you don't. She is not new to the racing game, if she has not figured it out yet...I find it difficult to believe she could learn setup while driving an F1 car. That would be like learning medical procedures during brain surgery. If she can't figure it out where she is....there is no chance she will in F1.

The force that G's put on a body in a race car is directly proportional to the weight of that body. She is 4 foot nothing, but that means she will have to use less energy to resist the G's...so I think physically she could do it if she has the same physical drive that other F1 drivers have. Yes, she would need to work on neck strength but I'm fairly certain there are many who could help her with that. The problem is that IRL is significantly easier than F1 and she hasn't exactly lit up the series with impressive drives to my knowledge. If she is interested in F1, she will need to go through a feeder series to see if she has the stuff. I doubt it very much, but then I'm not the keeper of all knowledge in that area. Maybe she would surprise us all....but a feeder series first please.

You don't think Alonso will come to the US team? I'm crushed. :hehe: Yeah, you are probably right. With Villeneuve sniffing around like a hunting dog on a scent...I hope to god he isn't in the plan. That guy is more of a whining baby than Alonso, Hamilton and Montoya put together. Not to mention he is like 60 years old now. God man, if you want an F1 drive at least shave so that your gray beard is not the first thing anyone sees. Dye it or something. :grandad:

Whats happenning to me?????? Or is it you???????? :yikes: This sounds like a good reasoned arguement!..well most of it :hehe: Maybe Im dreaming or just generally loosing the plot.
Feeder series would be best idea but she hasnt got tiome to mess about in thtat. Also they'll rush her through for the marketing value. They could take her on a one year deal and the publicity and money it would bring would more than make up for poor results. Then if she was no good they could use the income she brought to buy a decent driver for the next year.

Lewis doesnt whine

All racing drivers whine!

That is not true and I'm insulted that you would say such a thing. You will be hearing from my drivers union steward. The problem in here is that the texans are given entirely too much leeway to say what they please. There needs to be sweeping rules reform that keeps the texans in check, a foot on their throat so to speak....a gag order if you will. In fact, all posts originating in texas or within 100 miles of same should be routed through a filter that deletes them if they have more than 10 words and use any words with a vowel in them.

As to Danny sauntering into F1 on the hope that her being here would bring money to her team....a new team finishing dead last will probably shorten its life in F1. To me, I would put the best driver I could afford in the car right off the bat...maybe score a point or two on his back and try to immediately get on with car development. If your driver is incapable of that, you will start poorly and finish worse while the grid pulls away from you in development. The driver is the key to car development in F1...a good one can drag a heap forward a few positions while a poor setup driver finishes a consistent 10 places behind his team mate in the same car. We have seen many examples of this recently. Setup is everything in F1...and a driver without those skills might as well stay in the pits. Half a second per lap is a fraction of a second per corner and is the difference between Q1 and the back of the pack. That fraction is very difficult to get out of the car...and getting it requires the driver working with the crew on the same technical level. Cute as she is, I don't believe she has that skillset.

The other driver could get the results. She could bring in the sponsorship. And who knows...she may surprise!

To the best of my knowledge, she has won one race, Motegi 2008, but only because the leader ran out of fuel. Sure, strategy is a big part of racing...but so is enough talent to have some results after five years in a series.. I've never seen any film of it, but from what I understand she is a truly talented driver that has won at every level on her way to IRL, but I am still not convinced she has the talent to be successful in F1.

On the other hand, she seems like an extremely competitive person, and I'm not sure she would really be happy on a team (USF1) which more than likely doesn't have much hope of having a fast car (at least for the first few seasons).
