Flavio Briatore has said Fernando Alonso is welcome back at Renault should the Spaniard wish to return.

Alonso's future has been the subject of much speculation of late. According to rumours either he's going to leave McLaren at the end of the season or the Woking team is going to give him the boot.

But should either circumstance play out Alonso won't be without a drive for long as his former team would "love" to have him back.

"I can't deny that I think Fernando is great but he has a contract with someone," Briatore told Spanish sports daily Marca.

"He is very special. We had a special relationship at Renault and it was always transparent. Although he signed for McLaren we continue to be friends.

"Of course I would love to have him in the team, I think everyone would want Fernando because he is exceptional."

Alonso won both his World titles in 2005 and 2006 with Renault and Flav agrees with Spanish fans that Alonso could be better off at Renault.

"So do I," he said when told about the Spanish supporters' opinions. "You don't have to be Spanish to think that."

There's also another story on the site where Heikki Kovalainen says it's "only a matter of time" before FA wins this season's title. Another one straight from the Renault PR room.

I think they'll get him back, and team him with HK, leaving Fisichella in no-mans-land.

Pat Simmons said something similar a few weeks back. Renault may or may not be championship winners, however, Alonso will feel loved and his ego well fed. Alonso does like winning though, so I think he will go somewhere where he can compete. He hasn't got a love for Renault and its staff; he's a love for whoever will satisfy his ego.

FA only loves one person: himself.
I see the Spanish peacock either with Renault in 08 or with McLaren in 08 and then move to BMW-Sauber for 09.

I assess the facts. Now, you remain blinkered and continue to explode in your underwear for your beloved Alonso.

2005: Raikkonen in a much, much less reliable car nearly beats him
2006: Schumacher in a slower car would have beaten him had it not have been for reliability issues

Therefore, in both of his title winning years he was not the best driver. Getting any clues here!

you have to read this post a few times to see that none of it is based on fact!!!!! there is no such thing as "i nearly beat him"!!!!! the FACT is this...."i beat him"..... you do not NEARLY beat someone!!!!....you either beat them, or you dont!!!!!! so "NEARLY" beat him in 05 is NOT a FACT!!!!.....and history shows that the 2005 f1 world champion was, Fernando Alonso!!!!!(are you gettin any clues yet??.....you made the point kimi in 05 was in a much less reliable car!!! why was he in a less reliable car????could it be anything to with the driver and his input to his engineers????.... ok....on to 2006 and you say tricky micky COULD have beaten FA in a slower Ferrarri had it not been for reliability issues!!!! they BOTH had reliability issues and issues with the FIA during the course of the season!!!!...schuni parking his car at Rascasse...Alonsos wheel falling off at Hungary, schumi engine failure at monza, and alonso penalty for the alledged blocking of massa in quali!!!!!!! there are all different variables during the course of a season, and THE BEST DRIVER is the one who manages to keep all the variables to a minimum during the WHOLE season and accumulates the most points at the end of it!....so now your assumption that schumi would havebeaten alonso in a "SLOWER"???!!! car in 2006 is also not based on FACT!!!!!! AND ONCE AGAIN, the history books show that the 2006 f1 world champion was......FERNANDO ALONSO!!!!!....ok....now im really giving you the clues for free!!!! :D

Perhaps, come the end of the season, you'll have a clue Mr. Ho. In the meantime, might I suggest a typing course and a few lessons in written English. Your posts are difficult to read to say the least and, consequently, I stopped bothering after struggling through the first one or two.

No Way! Alonso is good i'll give it that.. but to say that the driver is the only variable in the win is just stupid
