Get rid of the boring tracks that has minimal overtaking

Valencia

Get rid of Shang-hite and Boring-Bahrain as well.

"I designed these tracks to encourage overtaking." said Hermann Tilke.

Yep they suck.
Get Suzuka in permanently.

I heard a rumor that the Top Gear test track is the next new track coming.

That was Bernie's idea. He said at that time that track was too long and fans at the grand stands saw cars just few times during the race. I think that was an official explanation. Or something like that.

And, old Hockenheim was good, not only because of long straits, but because of changeable weather conditions. Just remember race in 2000 and brilliant Barrichello's win. It was raining on the one part of track, and it was dry on other. It is similar thing as with Spa, that make (made) them excellent and demanding tracks.

Ecclestone's explanations didn't really stack up to much. I can't think of any Formula One fans who were moaning about Hockenheim's old layout.

One of the many things that's disappointed me in recent times is the lack of variety of circuits in Formula One. For instance, Monza is really the only proper high-speed circuit left, and even it's been tampered with.

Isn't Hokenheim old''s problem saftey?

No, I wouldn't say that. I can't remember any serious accident on the old Hockenheim circuit. Well, that could be "official" reason to destroy such a great track, but I don't see it in that way.

The only serious accident I can recall would be Didier Pironi's career-ending crash with Prost during wet practice.

Yes, you're right. I forgot about that. But, that were the other times. Nowadays Formula One cars are as solid as rock and I don't see any problem in racing on old Hockenheim.

Ugh 1982 was such a messy season, and we think 2009 is bad!

I don't find Silverstone as boring track, opposite. Silverstone is great track and every driver likes it. If we speak about lack of overtaking than this is not just the problem of Silverstone than of Formula One in general.

Nevertheless, Silverstone is gone for a while. I hope that races in Donnignton will be more interesting than this year's race in Silverstone.

Quite honestly, I was never a big fan of Hockenheim, the new layout is just so generic. The old layout would be fun to watch with the spec changes to improve drafting, but its not very challenging for the drivers so I doubt we will ever see it again. I am glad its being run at Nürburgring this year, I think its a more challenging course.

Off topic but I can say the same things about Fuji, Suzuka is the better choice.
