I am going all three days, Driving from London each day. This is my first GP so I am not sure about camping and because I am going alone I choose to drive everyday instead. I am on pitstraight A all three day, might move around on Friday to find out more. I am interested in getting autographs/pics with drivers, do they allow this on Friday? I suppose only friday is the time when you can probably get any way near these guys. Any tips on what to do while being there instead of sitting in chair whole day.

You don't get near any of the drivers unless you have a paddock pass

Your best bet is to explore the circuit. Take in the sessions from different areas, go visit the F1 village etc.

There is some sort of competition thing on the friday and saturday where if you go to the E-zones then 250 lucky people will get to get autographs on that day( that makes sence!)

Good thing i'm near Stowe E-zone.

yeah im on hangar straight  from that do you get to see them braking for stowe?

You will do yeah. Which will be interesting. Hopefully I'll get to see down the Hanger Straight and along the vale

In BSB you can meet the riders as I did with Shakey Byrne and I got a picture with him.
Better for people that.

Yeah but this isnt BSB its much more high class and better :hehe:

What are you, some posh toff? Get off here if you are.

Where is the best place to watch at Silverstone?

?

Maggots & Becketts is awesome for quick cars like F1, Prototypes/GT cars etc. Don't see much overtaking though - if any! Bridge is similar to that. I like watching and hearing cars accelerating up through the gears out of the final corner too... incredible. To be honest, at Silverstone i think every place to watch from has it's own good points... :)

No by high class i mean more people watch it and there is more demand for it therefore more people will want to see and get signatures off of F1 drivers! and i prefere F1 to bikes so personally i like f1 more so thats why i said better im allowed to have my own opinion.

I'm on Hangar straight as well again this year, you get a really good view of cars overtaking down into Stowe. I'm hoping to see Nico pull Mansell style dummies on the Ferraris during the race.

It'd be nice to see Williams on the podium at Silverstone. :)

If the Turkey performance is anything to go by, they're looking good for this weekend now they car works well on high downforce tracks. Sam Michael is predicting the KERS cars to have trouble in the high speed corners as Silverstone has seriously fast and long corners. So that will give Ferrari (are BMW running KERS this weekend?) something to worry about and for McLaren something to whinge about.

I have to say, I've been thinking about who'll win this weekend, and its an interesting one to think about.

Button no doubt, will be all guns blazing. There's not one race this year he wants to win more. But Rubens has an amazing record around silverstone. I believe he listed it as one of the tracks he most wants to win on this year. Really, I can imagine both drivers pushing each other more so at this race, than any before.

But on the other hand. If there's one track that the Red Bull should be good at, this is it. Not forgetting, Mark is pretty rapid around here. Last year he pulled managed to pull a magic lap and get 2nd place in quali.

So really, it'll be interesting to watch and to see who comes out on top this weekend.

Agreed, Rubens and Mark the dark horses! Rubens mega in 2003!

The fight for "Best of the rest" after Red Bull and Brawn will be between Williams, Toyota and the Ferrari's. I don't recall Toyota ever particularly shining here, car balance and tyre wear caused by the weight of KERS through the long, fast corners might trouble Ferrari, but Williams' FW31 will simply stick to the track through the fast corners that the FW30 understeered like a shopping trolley through last year.

I realise alot of what I say has already been said. Most notably by Cap-Dude and 7up, so I apologise for them.

I think this weekend could be set up to be quite a duel between Red Bull and Brawn (de ja vu from Turkey?).
The weather will play a part in things once again, I'd expect it to be quite a battle for pole position and with the threat of rain on Saturday morning, we could have a very topsy turvy grid.

If the entire weekend remains relatively dry I would be inclined to say that Jenson Button would win the race. However this is the first weekend that I feel Rubens could match or even beat him. As noted, Barrichello's record around Silverstone is very very good, and he knows how to win at Silverstone.
He needs to outscore Jenson this weekend, or i'm sure it's team orders and championship over for Rubens.

Red Bull could easily be close to Brawn again this weekend. More likely in Qually.
Mark Webber is very strong in here (go back to wet F3000 in 2000), but Vettel was remarkably strong in the Toro Rosso last year up until the race itself.

So it's all play at the front, what about the midfield. Well I'd expect the usual "gang" of Toyota, Ferrari and Williams fighting it out for the remaining points. Maybe even BMW, if they have found anything over the last fortnight.

Sadly, from my point of view, I predict a poor weekend from Renault. Mclaren will probably out do them, especially as this is their home GP.
