The FIA may well have shot themselves in the foot; if they can not come to an agreement with FOTA and the 8 FOTA teams leave F1; the FIA could well only find themselves with three teams as the other applicants will have abandoned their plans and if asked come the end of the season will tell the FIA to take a long walk off a short pier!

Frank Williams suggested earlier, some F1 teams adopt a new entry into F1 helping in some tech areas. Turn this idea on its head, with the manufactures of FOTA enticing some new entrants to side with them. Decrease the pool of new teams that Max and the FIA have to choose from.
