I thought this would be in an interesting idea that would focus on all aspects of the sport whereby you choose who you would like to have if you were to create your own Formula One team. This includes designers and strategists as well as drivers. They can be from the past as well the present. My Dream Team would be:

Drivers: Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost

Car Designer: Colin Chapman

Technical Director: Ross Brawn

Team Principle: Ron Dennis

I'm sure there are some positions I haven't mentioned, however, as a start, I think that would be a mighty team: The fast and furious Senna in tune with the machine; the smooth and calculating Prost guaranteed to get the car home; The clever innovator Chapman and if there are ideas he didn't exactly invent, he used them much better; Ross Brawn's tactical mind would allow you to pull off some classy race strategies when the race is not going in your favour; and the Ron Dennis would provide some business savvy and a cool environment for concentration leading to further success.

Sorry McLaren Fan, I have to agree with Darwin Dali. Otherwise good call, though I would rather team Senna with Michael Schumacher.

Drivers: Damon Hill, Riccardo Patrese, Roberto Moreno (test driver )

Car Designer: Harvey Postlethwaite

Technical Director: Patrick Head

Team Principle: Frank Williams

You gotta have Frank and Patrick together, and Harvey was the man who came up with such radical designs for Uncle Ken and introduced the concept of a high nose car which Jean Alesi put to good use. :)

As for Moreno being a test driver, he had plenty of crap drives a'la Eurobrun, Andrea Moda et al, but in the Benetton he was pretty good and only got laid off because of Big Bad Tom and Flavio wanting to sign Schumi, it was either Moreno or Piquet who would get the sack, and we all know what happened from then.

Drivers: Juan Pablo Montoya, Lewis Hamilton
(same driving style. Both got superb car cobtrol and fast reflexes. If the front goes where they put it they can sort out any problems with the back stepping out. The designer could concentrate on a car to complement those skills)

Car Designer: Colin Chapman

Technical Director: Pat Symmonds. (he's really sweet and doesnt get grumpy)

Team Principle:Well i actually like Ron Dennis, think he is fair and does a good job...but mabe not with Juan in the team soooooooooo Eddie Jordon-to lighten things up a bit

Sorry McLaren Fan, I have to agree with Darwin Dali. Otherwise good call, though I would rather team Senna with Michael Schumacher.

What has always lowered Prost in my view on who is the greatest driver is his lack of ability in the wet; he hasn't mastered all conditions as it were. For that reason alone, Schumacher would be a better bet.

I disgaree with DD (who has an anti-McLaren agenda anyway) and yourself about Ron Dennis. Some people dislike the working environment at McLaren, however, it provides the conditions the greatest drivers like and need. There is plenty of time for fun after working hours.

Drivers: Juan Pablo Montoya, Lewis Hamilton

Montoya is no doubt very fast, some of his charges will live long in the memory, however, he can't produce them consistently enough to regularly races. He's an all or nothing kind of guy. You would be better off with somebody a fraction slower but who can keep that level throughout the season.

Correction: I have an anti-RD agenda. Once he's gone, I'll have a fresh look at McLaren...

Maybe, but this is a dream team. Who would be better to watch?

Andretti wasn't doing the business for several reasons and really had to go.

I just dislike RD

Team Principle - Flavio Briatore

Liking this, but would still bump Alonso for Senna in fantasy world. So Flavio would only have MS to deal with, Senna always struck me as the last of the gentlemen drivers who could still do it. Or is my memory clouded by sentimentality?

Drivers: Juan Pablo Montoya, Lewis Hamilton

I'm reserving judgment on Hamilton as a personality though I take nothing away from his achievement so far, but Montoya? He was a menace! Look at the mangling he gave M Schumacher in the Monte Carlo tunnel. Did he think there were no cameras watching?
