If I had a penny for every time I heard an American try an bad English accent when they find I am from the UK; I would be a rich man, usually the stupid upper class twit accent, e.g. Hugh Grant-esque... All of the above except the Irish statement; although my wife's name literally means Ireland and she has a little Irish in her. I get the additional question of "is that near London?" after the "where you from?" question, I'm from Plymouth which is nowhere near London!
