I was lucky enough to see one last year in the Pre-Historic races at Laguna Seca, and its a really nice car! But I didnt see it run on track.

Pre-historic?
This is what I'd expect to see in a 'pre-historic race' :P

Nah it was called Pre-historic because it was one week before the Historic races, but I'm sure you already know that. :)

That car is a beauty too and a pleasure to drive on Forza Motorsport 2, just goes to show how effective Tobacco advertising was back in the day. :cloud9:

They were effective in making iconic liveries.

I actually thought for a minute there that you were gonna say you drove that car for real.

it doesn't really suit Lewis either tbh. He had the car to win it last year but demolished the tyres. Istanbul is a track that demands some conservation of the tyres and I don't think that is Lewis's strong point

I wish I could be able to say that. :hehe:

But he was a dream in GP2 when all cars were equal. He was just on another level! I know in F1 turn 8 canes his tyres

it was a far shorter race in GP2 with lower downforce. In F1 machinery, Lewis hasn't demonstrated the ability to conserve his tyres at Istanbul, so although he has a lot of pace there, he's always going to be at a disadvantage over a race distance

@headless, i was saying that Istanbul is a pretty average track except for turn 8

Its an impressive track to watch at, not just because of T8 (I watched from T 12/13) but also because of the hilliness. the cars look good there.

I think in a way, it's fair to say the Istanbul is average bar turn 8. But when you think about it, few tracks have that special and unique corner. The drivers do really enjoy Istanbul as a track, and many do call it a real drivers track. I think Istanbul is above average for a track, because the layout really works. You have the first sector which is a series of tricky medium corners. Then turn 8 itself. Then the end of the circuit has given us some great battles. I remember last year with Hekki, he had some great action going on. A driver can overtake into turn 9, but it's easy for the other guy to come right back down the pit straight, which has led to some good racing. Plus it's anti-clockwise, to all together I think it comes together and it's the best circuit that Herman Tilke's designed.

I think Massa's dominance has shadowed this tracks real potential, and I think this year we really could be on for a great race.
