Formula One related discussion.

In my opinion, the NFL is to ballgames what Formula One is to motorsports.

It really isn't but there's nothing wrong with the NFL. Easily my favourite US sport. Who do you like DD?

My hometown team the Chargers

Cools, they had a weird season last year, everyone seemed to think they would do a lot better than they did. I'm a Packers fan, the less said about their 2008 season, the better. Anyhow, waaaay off topic 8-)

I think Williams know they are still a pure engineering team and with a budget cap of £40m they would be very competitive again...

Losing Williams would be a great tragedy for F1, I've seen a lot of positive press about Williams over the last 2 years, since they stopped their public showing of unity with McLaren they have been in good favour with the FIA.

I think they are doing this for survival, and it also wouldn't surprise me if the rules are being changed not only to attract more teams into F1 but also protect one of the great names...

I have no problems with Williams not being a part of FOTA. As Sir Frank Williams said, they have obligations to Ecclestone, the FIA, their sponsors etc. What I do have problems with, however, has been Williams' attitude recently. Okay, perhaps they didn't agree with FOTA's line and/or wanted to look out for their own interests, but they should have left FOTA quietly. Instead, Patrick Head has been constantly divulging the internal affairs of FOTA, which has dented the organisation's influence. Very poor form from Williams.
