Surely Alonso must have been aware of Mclaren's long term position of 'driver equality within the team' before he signed up?... you can bet that if Alonso was currently 'top of the table' he wouldn't be winging about 'driver equality' now... he is acting like a spoilt child... I am surprised by his current attitude - not that of a double World Champion in my opinion... I thought he was 'bigger' than that... obviously not...

I feel irreversible damage has been done to the relationship between Alonso and Mclaren... he should leave at the end of the season... and go back to Renault where he will feel 'loved'...

God knows what gives all you people the idea that Alonso sets up Hamilton's car for him. Moss was runner up in the championship 5 times, should have been champ at least 3, but he was victim of circumstances in the wrong car.

Alonso, also a victim of circumstance, in both his champ years he was at best, the seasons second best driver...
05, Raikonnen, was alot better, but the car let him down too often, nearly every time he finished he was ahead of alonso, and he broke down from the lead 4 times
06, Schumacher was the better driver over the season, but renault caught ferrari napping at the start of the season and it took them too long to catch up.


No-one is denying that FA is a good driver, but his championships are past, whats happening now is what matters... he has never been in a situation where he has to cope with a team-mate who is treated equally, and has similar ability... NOW he has that problem, and he can't cope with it, he whinges, whines and make mistakes too often

To end this stupid argument, neither is going anywhere. Its called a contract, don't think either driver will find another team to buy out the contracts. BMW will not, Flavio is too cheap, Ferrari doesn't even know if Todt is going, Brawn is coming, if Micheal Schumacher is going or coming. It will be the same for the top 3 teams.

this report is not true dear Fernando fan!!!!!....Ron Dennis is expecting BOTH drivers to honour their contracts, as he has already stated!!!1....i am fu<<in appalled by the way Fernando has been treated at McLaren this year, and i hold only wRONg Dennis responsible.......all the respect and admiration i have always had for wRONg has been completely wiped away by his complete ineptitude to pair a double world champion with a fu<<in rookie!!!!!!!!!! Fernando has had 2 very difficult years beating schumacher and the fia(sco) to the 05 and 06 titles......he has gone to McLaren and turned them around from 0 wins last year into the most competitive team this year with his technical input to the team, and hamilton has benefitted from this input, yet shows no respect despite his constant stating he has respect!!!!.....after his foul mouthed outburst at wRONg dennis, he has shown he really has NO respect, not even to the man who has funded and guided his career thus far, and then put him in the best car on the circuit!!!!! wRONg Dennis has played the role of Dr. Frankenstein, and created his own personal monster!!!!! hamilton has come into f1 the best prepared of any driver due to the guidance he has had from McLaren, so its no surprise to everybody in the pitlane that he is doing a good job.....but as Eddie Irvine has said, hes believing his own hype in the press. Personally, i think hes been reading too many books about Ayrton and his attitude to Prost when Ayrton joined McL:aren....hes now trying to emulate Ayrtons disrespect to Prost at the beginning of their strained tenure at McLaren!!!...Alonso was at a slight disadvantage while he took time to get used to the Bridgestones, and hamilton made hay while the sun shone at Indy and Montreal!!!!Had Ferarri won the 2 north American races as they were expected to, then he would not be 7 points clear in the drivers table......(but then again,IF my auntie had a pair bo!!ox she would be my uncle!!!) all the data from Alonsos setup is analysed by BOTH sets of engineers for each car!!!!.....whoever finds the best baseline compromise at any circuit, this data is used by both sides.......are you saying Alonso is using hamiltons setup data?????.....Fernando is known for being able to stabilise the car to suit his aggressive style, and this also suits hamilton, who is also agressive in his driving!!!!!......Alonso has been setting up f1 cars for 5 years longer, so are you saying his experience is no better than his rookie teammates??????.....and as for personal insults in posts, its not really the way to go imo!!!!

McLaren have always treated both drivers equally and allowed them to race one another without one being favoured (at least until one of them could not win the championship, in which case he should help the other). He has shown he is a poor sportsman and champion by not wanting his team mates to race him on equal terms.
