funny thing with these shows is, i ask all of my friends relatives etc etc if any of them watch these type of shows they all deny it, but when the ratings are announced they are all through the roof, i bet these type of shows have alot of closet fans who are too embarrased to admit it

Terrible programme, it's really pathetic that people in the UK seem so massively surprised that someone who does not posses a wealth of conventional aesthetic attributes is actually able to sing! Like her appearance has any bearing on the likelihood of whether or not she is able to sing well. I can't understand why people were so amazed by this. Last time I checked, you told who could sing and who couldn't by listening, not looking

Indeed. I was saying today that the hype over Susan Boyle shows what a bunch of stereotypes we all are. We seem to think, that based on appearances we can judge someone. I mean, is she really that great a singer compared to her hype. She's more hype than voice right now. But then again, Britans got Talent have got an awful nack for making a story out of everything. As if they take the country for fools, and think we believe that a mans career and life itself hangs in balance of our votes.

Still, i'll admit I've watched Britans got talent lately, just cause those guys, diversity are something else. I seriously recommend checking them out on youtube.

She's a reasonably decent singer and she looks a like some-one who wouldn't normally be a famous pop star. the combination of these two things seems to be sufficient for her to have become international news.

well she dosent she seems a bit gullible to me, she will be easy pickings for some smooth talking manager who will make sure they get more than their fair share of the takings and then some of hers, lets hope it dosent end that way but i bet theres alot of managers queing up on her door step right now looking for her signature

Yeah...I hate shows like this. It's just Producer and Programmers being lazy.

Hence it's on ITV and not a high quality network like BBC.

Yes, the quality of TV shows is going down the drain fast, and it gets even worse when shows like XFactor and Big Brother are on. Even when they revive "classic" shows they just take everything away from them that made it so good in the first place.

One of the main reasons why I avoid broadcast channels like the pest and focus on premium channels such as HBO, Showtime and Starz, where they show high-quality shows and movies w/o those retarded commercials
