anyway, 95% of the setup is decided b4 the cars leave the factory, its donw from previous experience, and simulations on the rigs.

only fine tuning is done at the circuit, even in testing there are very few changes made, and those are very small changes

Found it, the reason for the setup comments.

Lewis after the race at silverstone:
I think I made a wrong decision with the set-up. I chose a different rear end to Fernando and I think it really caused me problems during the race.

If LH had been copying FAs setups throughout the season why on earth would he decide to choose a different setup from FA when he hadn't even attended the test session the ~week before the race?

Because he doesn't normally use the same setup. Just the changes he made didn't go with the rest of the car and it's didn't work out for him.

Lewis has a completely different style to alonso, also he has been groomed for years on how the car works and how his input will affect it. What then would be the sense in him adopting alonso's set-up???Alonso has been struggling to make the tyres work, Lewis has not, so again why would he want to adopt Alonso's set up???

That's correct. Lewis drives with a very personal style, the car goes much more externally while being drived by him. But, it does not mean that he have learned all the learnable. There's still something to do. He's a great, but it's still soon, in my opinion. Don't burn him because u need to win a championship. U can win with or without lewis., for this year. Let Fernando take what he really deserved. He made a great job, he has been correct and fair, you all british should love a driver so, but i cannot and don't wont to impose it to you. We are poor. We got a driver (Kimi) and alf an one Felipe- We can just dream with your drivers

LH obviously had a better time when he was lead singer of Fine Young Cannibals.

I like mclaren but for me it is more about the drivers. i agree with you that lewis has a lot to learn,he has sais so himself, but alredy he knows enough to be leading the championship, when he learns more he will be mighty.
Sorry but cant agree with you that alonso deserves this one. He has been frequently outdriven by lewis and has looked ragged and gone off the track a lot trying to keep up. Then he blocked him, that was not a fair thing.
Little filipe's not so bad! Hes had some great races and hes always been fair so far. (Alonso also got pissed off with him because he dared to defend his lead )

I totally respect your opinion about the championship. About Felipe.. he is quick but there's something wrong with him, but so far i'haven't understand what exactly is it! Under the rain he couldn't keep the car on the track, and he talks too much the double of kimi. Anyway, thank you for your kind effort to confort me :D
