I am curious to see if we can come up with something as a collective...

Ok I have seen that there are many many threads on here about the budget cap and the new regulations. It seems as though the teams + Bernie cannot figure out the best way to go about it and are locked in meeting after meeting. The teams have been complaining that F1 is becoming too expensive, but on the other hand they do not like the new rules.

If you were at the meeting, what would you suggest can be done as a compromise to help get new teams in but to not compromise the sport as it is?

-I would eliminate the amount of pit crew in the pits. There are way too many. There should be 2 persons/wheel for example one puting on the wheel and the second holds the wheel and passes it, 2 fuel men for exemple one is fueling up the tank and the other is passing the fuel tank and helping him.
- Next I would reduce amount of staff on each team
- Get rid wind tunnel testing. This is very expensive
-change the point systems for example:
1st place will have 20 points
2nd 19 points
3rd 18 points
4th 17
5th 16
6 15
7 14
8 13
9 12
10 11
- Drivers who earn these points will only have to pay $3500 per point.
- FIA should increase their race season to 20 races and the races would be twice a month.

I agree about the wind tunnel. way too expensive! But there neds to be more difference between first 3 places, especially etween 1st and 2nd.

I like the thought of 20 races per season. But not every other week though, that would mean racing for 40 weeks a year, but really there needs to be at least a 16 week off-season, if not more like 20 weeks.

I'd quite like to see a 10 week European season consisting of 10 races, with a 3 week development gap either side. The Euro season would be proceeded by a 10 week, 6 round Asian series of races, and followed by an 8 week, 4 round Americas series. Mmm yeah. Anyway, that could wait for another topic :P

Surely the best way to do a budget cap season would be to have a pot which on 1st Jan every team puts £40mil into, and then over the course of the year all teams must make any orders out of that "pot". That way, the FIA would easily know which parts were fairly sourced, which teams tried to obtain items outside of the cap rules, and would keep the FIA from snooping though private accounts.
I suppose there would be some issues to contend with, i.e. future development, or the follow through of parts from previous seasons. Would never happen though, seems like a more annoying system than my Uni's students union treasury!

Engine and chassis suppliers have to be prepared to sell their engines and chassis to other teams at fixed prices.

make the circuit owners pay less to host the race, so we can have better circuits.

might not help the teams, but for sure helps us not lose good circuits like we are doing at the moment

as for the teams, start the budget cap higher, gradually decrease so teams dont have to make redundant half of there work force.

How about hosting all of the races in Australia - the arse of the world? :D

arse of the world?

I saw it on an Fijian's shirt when I was walking to primary school around 10 years ago. I would've been 8 - 10 years old. It's still stuck in my brain to this day.

It was a picture of planet earth with an arse-crack over Australia. It's lame - I know. But I just remembered it then.
