For me, Red Bull are quick in the wet because of tyre treatment and aero - i don't quite get the notion that general superior mechanical grip = a better wet weather car, when mechanical grip is the very thing that is compromised in the wet! The tyre treatment is key too though, i would guess that Red Bull can keep heat in theirs better in cool or wet conditions whereas the Brawn is kind to it's tyres over longer, hot conditioned runs because it doesn't generate so much heat in the tyres (a byproduct of creating less tyre wear). In that respect, the differences between the cars is a carbon copy of the McLaren/Ferrari car differences last year...

They discovered their pace in the wet by fluke at Fuji 2007 I was reading a few weeks ago in Autosport. I'm not really adding much to what you are saying Scotty, except that when they discovered it. So sorry if it's pointless

Where do you think the physics behind their use of tyres comes from? It's from mechanical grip ie the suspension setup

Yeh the suspension geometry as well as the weight distribution will have an effect on the car's ability to generate tire temperature in the wet. Mechanical grip is important in the wet as it is primarily the role of the suspension to maintain as large a contact patch with the road as possible at all times. This is especially important in the wet as the tire's ability to shift water away from the tread blocks is massively compromised once a layer of water can get between the tire and the track.

Ferrari seem well fast but they have to be lightly fueld
