In my own opinion or question is Formula One Racing all that? Why is it the pinicle point of every racing drivers career? in recent articles it is said that the Ferrari drivers are "they will be happy to move to an unidentified lesser racing category next year" so if 2 of the greatest racing drivers of all time can say that as easy as it sounds. Is F1 that great?

Reasons why not

British Press
lewis Hamilton was classed as a saint for along time, now he gets torn to shreds by his own nation?
Never the less the same could happen to Button and has happened to button in previous years

Pressure
There is a ridiculous amount of pressure put on the drivers, i see Heikki as a talented driver but he
is watching over his shoulder all the time? why? it's the car not him. So why is there too much pressure?

Your views? and anything else to add

That doesn't prove say anything about whether it is a the pinnacle of motorsport or anything?
Driver/team tension exists in any form of motorsport, the very fact that it is taken up a notch by the press would therefore show Formula one's popularity and position at the top of the motorsport ladder.

Massa and Raikkonen's words ring hollow. They are towing the party line. Fact is, Kimi only sees a few more years of F1 in his future anyway and Massa just wants to appease his bosses - no doubt he'll be calling around the teams that stay in the unlikely event The Scuderia pulls out.

They have less hp and less displacement than other series. It was very exciting back in the day but now it's just another spec series. Those two clowns have reduced it to a laughing stock.

the only time hamilton got torn the shreds was when it had been found out he had lied. Other than that and when he moved abroad to avoid tax, i think his had a smooth ride.

As for Massa and Kimi, Kimi is lazy bottom and clearly dosnt have much passion for F1 any more, as for Massa when has he ever been a great, dont get me wrong he is good but his certainly isnt a gread

The slating over Alonso came later when folk started going on about disobeying team orders.
I agree with you its all part and parcel of the game they're in but some press/people use it only against Hamilton for some reason

As he was touted the next big thing, and in a way insulted alot of people by moving abroad to avoid tax, thats never going to get ya on the good side of the press.

China was another prime example of a media frenzy when he lost it in the bit lane and beached in the gravel, due to staying out far to long. I think Hamilton is his undoing alot of the time, and leaves him self open.

Button would have got the agro he did if he was competing at the top, and if he starts loseing the media will soon turn on him aswell.

I think anyone at the top gets it. Yes he was touted as the next big thing, who built that up?-the press, great story! Then sell even more papers by knocking him down. Goes with being the best I guess. Cant understand the big deal about tax, theyre all abroad because of tax!!
Yes Button will get it, he did to a certain extent when he played musical F1 teams and Mr. playboy. He just wasnt at the top enough to get the real sting.
I think you're right about Hamilton leaving himself open, he's not good at thinking about how what he says will be perceived . He just says it as it is. Not a good poker player as Kubica puts it. I just get disappointed at how many people jump on what the press say and take it as gospel.

I think Massa was great all last year. Everybody expected him to settle for being second to Raikkonen, but he got to grips with the car much better and put in some stunning performances (notably his pole lap in Monaco, his dominant form at Valencia and Singapore, and that spectacular drive at Interlagos). For me, Massa was the best of the two major championship contenders last season, because he took a step forward whilst Hamilton seemed to take a step backwards.

The thing is i wouldnt class anyone out of the current formula 1 drivers as a great. I believe a couple have the potential to be a Great. But i dont think anyone is there. Kimi and Bara would be the closest imo to greatness in formula 1 at the moment

Yeah, wtf? Alonso has won back to back titles - and is the youngest guy to do so - and only a handful of drivers have ever done that!
