I'm at a loss as to why Mr Ecclestone can be allowed to decide where F1 shall or shall not race each year. What exactly is his role, involvement and when did he buy or steal the godship over F1. Is it because he has mucho dinero that people are afraid, cos it's not his stature.
For a man who has spent his whole life financed by the sport he allegedly loves, he is doing a grand job of sabotaging it. Maybe it's a touch of senile dementure starting to set in.
I would have thought that the FIA would select circuits and set calendars, leaving El Bernie to negotiate the lining of his pockets from the TV companies and marketing, or is that not what commercial rights implies?
Maybe as a mere mortal spectator I do not understand the politics of this commercial industry once loved and revered as a sport.
All I know is that too many top end people have too much money and with that they are destroying the sport.
I leave this post in the capable hands of the administrator to allocate to a thread.

Bernie runs Formula One Administration Ltd and Formula One management Ltd. Those two entities control any and all aspects of F1 which involve revenue streams (Entry fees, fines etc. do not count) and the F1 Brand.

So who else is involved in these two entities that control the future of F1, because as of today, re: Ferrari, BMW, Red Bull, Toro Rosso, and Renault, it appears he is going to be managing a very small group of racing enthusiasts.

After more than 30 years as a spectator I am astounded that this can be happening to the sport. Again, is there no-one who can veto these idiots? What is to become of F1? Would the FA or EUFA allow this to jeopardize the sport on the whims of one man, I think not.

Does "Bernie" not see now wrong he is? Listen to the public, the drivers and the team owners. They seem to be the ones with sense.

FOM and the FIA aren't like governments, they don't have to listen to the public if they don't want too. Power over those two institutions has to be won by force and skulduggery and all sorts of dodgy stuff. It's the jungle and there's no one to referee it all. In the end, Bernie acts in the best interest of the investment group he represents, the FIA work in what the see as the best interests of F1 and FOTA work in terms of the best interests of themselves.

In theory the FIA should be the right people for the job but unfortunately they just don't know enough about the sport they run and Bernie's relationship with Max has corrupted the whole thing.
This leads to a situation in which FOTA, a self-motivated entity actually seems to have come up with the best strategies fro running F1, largely because they actually know how to run the sport and because a healthy F1 happens to be good for them too.
