How Kimi acts infront of the press is not indicative of his work ethics when it comes to racing. He's been the same way since the beginning of his career and I didn't hear anyone complaining about his work ethics back then. When he puts his helmet on I'm sure he drives as fast as he can.

My opinion on the matter has nothing to do with how he acts off track. The problem with Kimi is his lack of effort when he's on the track. (assuming he gets on the track). You may not have been paying attention because Kimi's work ethic has always been in question, and he has a reputation for being the biggest party goer out of all current drivers.

So what exatcly makes you think he has poor work ethics on track then because you can't possibly know what his mindset is inside the helmet.

And when was the last time there was a story about him partying wildly? It's been years and you still keep at it.

Furthermore, you have absolutely no proof that he isn't trying his best on the track every time he goes out, not a shred. In this latest race he was one of the few actually trying to ovetake the car infront before his car broke down, again.

If Raikkonen really didn't care about racing anymore, he would have already retired and not stuck around giving 95% effort...

Of course I have no proof of what's on his mind when he's in his race car, But I do know in general he's faster than Massa, and he's proved himself to be faster last year by pulling off the fastest laps of the race on quite a few occasions, yet he couldn't keep it up for more than a few laps. This to me seems like a lack of effort, or a lack of focus.
Maybe it's due to his lack of partying :) could be he needs the stress relief of a good drunk night out if so party on Kimi....

I am sure I read somewhere a long time ago that Peter Sauber said Kimi, did not put much effort into developing the car but drove the wheels off anything that he was given.

So Kimi relied on there talent to get him to the front. However without the motivation they are just another driver who suddenly needs to set up a car better than they have ever had to do. I think that that is what Kimi is missing.

It would be like if you suddenly went blind. We all have our other senses but all of a sudden you have to rely on your other senses more. That is what Kimi is missing, he has lost his motivation and that has slowed him down. Now he needs to rely on setup, and that is something he has not had to do before.

I don't think so, the guy has been a racing driver all his life, he knows how to setup a race car because that is a huge part of his job. He wouldn't be where he is if he couldn't do this.

So win or lose it's all down to the driver, eih? Sadly, that couldn't be further from the truth when it comes to F1.

I am not saying he can not set up a car totally, just like we can hear but if we lost our sight we would have to rely on our hearing more so we would become more adept at using our ears. in other words Kimi has only ever had to set the car up to 95% efficiency and his skill has made the difference. not without motivation he needs the car to be setup 100%, and that is what he is struggling with

I agree when it comes to F1 and race wins it's not just the driver, but when compared to his teammate in the same car I would say it's 95% due to the driver. Last year Kimi had 10 fastest laps to Massa's 3, yet Massa finished closer to the front twice as often. You can't say Kimi's car is just slower as it obviously isn't and I know luck plays a small factor in race finishes, but still when watching a race it seems like Kimi puts in a handful of fast laps then stops trying.
