With almost a totally new car the best they can get is 7th??? Will the new diffuser make any difference?? I'm worried.

Nik

It should make a positive difference but there is no telling how the rest of the package will react to it.

I don't know either...I could bet that BMW would make a good season this season.. =/

Really gutted for Kubica :(

At least BMW gained 2 points  ......better than nothing. I don't mean to wine like a baby about this, but i waited 12 years for BMW to come back to f1 and this is not exactly what i had in mind, then again its racing and racing is unpredictable.

Ross is def the genius.

Heidfeld and Kubica are some of the best drivers around. As much as I know that having a top car can make you win, I hope that they can show the world a good season out of BMWsauber. For some reason I am convinced that we have not seen the the best of them.

KERS, no KERS...I am a true believer in driver capability and know that BMW knows a driver that can win.

It was actually a good showing from BMW this weekend. Nick had ok pace, the new car looks better and it appears they are starting from scratch with the entire design of their package. With the KERS system & a double decker diffuser on their car they could be in a good position soon enough.

I think that chassis has been designed with the double decker diffuser in mind.

Of the top three teams from last year, they made the most progress this weekend. Kubica qualified 10th, a few .10 of a second from the top 4 and he had mismatched tires!! Heidfeld had brake problem and couldn't progress further during qualifying. Heidfeld spent a few weeks at the headquarter working with engineers to improve the aero package, it really paid off because he got two points on his birthday, excellent drive and once again proving that he is MR. CONSISTENT. Dr. Mario said the plan is to improve on the aero package, once it is sorted and all the bugs are fixed, then KERS will be added to see if it can improve the car, after that, the rear diffuser will be last to add onto the car to see if all three pieces can come together. Dr. Mario said the "rear diffuser" issue is important but its not a do or die situation, some of the top teams are not running the rear diffuser and the ones that's running have more to do with having the car developed early from last year with a good aero package. Monaco is a toss up but I am looking for them to break into the top 4 by Istanbul.

See what happens when you kick Chris Bangle out of the design studio?

Really? Cos it's very dissimilar from the Williams, Toyota and Brawn.

Im just assuming they have to be honest dude. It would be madness on their part not to design the new chasis with the double decker diffuser in mind.
