Ah right. So what's the deal with the 4 goal posts then?

two big ones in the middle are worth 6 points and kicking through that is called a goal. and the smaller ones are called behinds, which are worth 1 point. so if you miss in aussie rules you still score! :hehe:

think this site will help with the basics if youre interested :thumbup:http://www.aflbritain.com/

I've no real support for either Rangers or Celtic, but after how unlucky Rangers were last season, I'm hoping they do well this season.

And last week, my own team did very well, becoming Irish League champions once again.

I congradulate Glentoran on becoming league champions once more, hopefully Rangers will lift the trophy in a fortnights time, and then we can all do the Bouncy.:hehe:

And of course, we have two Northern Ireland players in our squad... Steve Davis and Lafferty, one of which scored the vital goal to silence "them"

:hehe: well that was against my team so i didnt rate that one :P dunno why Lance Franklins was in there it was just a set shot from a free kick albeit from 50m out but still thats the norm...

Is that like a penalty in Rugby? I have no clue about Aussie Rules...

The Aussie Rules free kick has more in common with a free kick in Football. Say a player gets tackled without the ball or he marks(catches) the ball after its been kicked he gets to kick it without being tackled, this can be anywhere on the pitch. For example if Drew Petrie marked that instead of kicking it mid air he would have had a set shot straight in front of goal.
Aussie rules isnt that hard to get your head around once you watch it. I can see how it would look hard to understand for someone who has never seen the game before though, its pretty different.

and yeah Gilles i cant fathom how Americans or even Rugby to some extent call their games football when they hardly kick the thing. :hehe:

Cheer, cheer the red and the white.
