Another interesting qualifying session :D
I was a bit gutted that Button pulled that last lap out of the bag, since it shoved Vettel back to second (though second is none to shabby!), but OMG what a lap, especially when you consider that he was struggling a little bit before that.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Massa and his KERS don't tangle with Vettel. Well, I hope he doesn't tangle with anyone, cos that would make for a messy start!

You would have thought that Ferrari had learned their lesson with the whole Massa-going-out-in-Q3 incident, but apparently not...

Vettel fan i see, nice to meet you :wavey:

back on topic, i do agree that ferrari fans are not representing themselves very well...
i am a ferrari fan myself (see avatar), and i certainly don't want to be classified as "a typical ferrari fan"

The Mclaren fans above trying to act noble in defeat after some of the insulting things written towards Ferrari in this very same thread have no place in which to speak of ethics
:nono:

Good quali anyway

I hope you are not referring to me because I think you will struggle to find a place where I have said 'insulting things towards Ferrari'

On More important issues I think it will be a Red Bull and Brawn GP battle for the title and for this GP.

The great Lewis Hamilton still not getting out of Q2--this is disgracefull! It's not Lewis's fault. They just can't get the MP4-24 working. I'm starting to think there's an enherent design flaw with the car. The entire Mclaren Mercedes team--from the boss to kid that sweeps the garage, should by fired!!!

excuse me those same people got him the title last year, i doubt you were whinging then! you should lower your expectations,
McLarenMercedes havent brought any large update this weekend and this was already marked as a bogey track going by winter testing for them. Its going to take time and i think once the 2010 regs are absolute the team will probably concentrate on them seeing as there is another bunch of new rules ontop of a budget cap.
So this year in terms of the regulations is a gap year!! how pathetic from a governing body preaching cost cutting :bs:

Disappointing stuff from McLaren although i think Hamilton has been flattering that car so far this season. Ridiculous failure by Ferrari and Kimi to not make it out of Q3, that car and indeed Kimi clearly had some pace. I'm still struggling to understand Williams' qualifying strategy, surely it would better to qualify light and at least have a chance of holding some people up in the race. I don't see them getting anywhere from that position tomorrow though.

I'd love to see Vettel win but I reckon the Brawn's are all over it.

Poor job by McLaren anyway during the off-season. I think they are used to buy everything better than other's but this year needed more knowledge and work ethic.

Lewis is not bigger than the team. For the past two years they gave him brilliant cars, yet in his first year he failed to seal the championship despite having a huge points lead going in to the penultimate round and almost failed to clinch it last season. I don't see how you can really claim that, as soon as the team make a mistake, they should all be sacked. If things worked on that attitude, surely Lewis should have been out of the team at the end of 2007?

McLaren don't owe Lewis a top car every season. It's not like they've been completely incompetent like Ferrari have been this season. The new regs caught McLaren out more than most I think, Ferrari included. I think Kimi and Massa fans have more cause to be frustrated with their driver's team because Ferrari have been doing a shocking job with what looks like a reasonably decent car.

Here's something James Allen posted on Twitter a while ago. I hadn't realised just how well Vettel had qualified this year:

#f1 - Vettel's quali record so far this season P3, P3, P1, P3, P2 - the boy is really doing well

He hasn't been outside the top three (if you don't count the penalty in Malaysia) all season!
