Can I buy some punctuation? Maybe a spell checker? I'm sorry, but a third of the way through that I just quit reading. I can't even make out what your point is. If your first post on this board is a complaint about something....at least make what you are complaining about legible. Welcome to the board though.

I think, somewhere in your diatribe, you threw an insult at Hamilton.....which is certainly not a bad thing...but if you are going to be on the Hamilton hate wagon, please do take a writing class or two. Otherwise, racechic is going to cook you and feed you to her cats. You are playing in the deep end of the Hamilton Love Pool in here...you had best learn to swim before you dive in. Here...there be monsters.

Uh. The BBC coverage so far this year is already better than most of ITV's coverage. In fact, the only bad thing about the BBC coverage, really, is Eddie Jordan. I think that Jake Humphrey, David Coulthard, Martin Brundle, Lee McKenzie, Anthony Davidson, David Croft - even Ted Kravitz and at a push Jonathan Legard - do a spectacular job of bringing all of the weekend's events to us in an enjoyable manner. I'm not even going to bother addressing all the other nonsense that you've decided to post. :)

Other than Eddie Jordan (whom always wants to take a bite at DC), the BBCtv crew is fantastic... :wavey:

oh i MUST add, Martin Brundle is the best GP insider/commentator, without him, races wouldn't be as interesting...

James Allen, anyone?
"and the race is GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"

I am going to do two things. Translate that mess into English, then tell you why I and most others disagree.

"I have hated Jake Humphrey since the days of SportsRound and his Children's TV days. All he mentions now is KERS. Why can't we have Eddie Jordan or the legend that is David Coulthard. Nakajima sucks for spinning him out him in Brazil and, incidentally, Glock sucks for losing 18 secs on the final corners of that race just because he was spittin and he was on dries - letting Hamilton win that championship. He should never have won (If your a Hamilton supporter you're an English glory hunter because we're rubbish at everything else). GET OFF THIS WEBSITE! Hamilton is a cocky s***e he does well in a good car - woopty do! He's no god damn Stirling Moss, the true English F1 hero."

Okay, first of all, that is a paragraph full of unnecessary drivel which is frequently if not untrue, completely circumstantial.

"Anyway, back to my original point. Jake Humphrey is like the Richard Hammond or Jeremy Clarkson of F1. That style is great on an entertainment programme, but in sport we want to hear about the cars and do not need the laughs. Jake was clearly only given the job to justify his hefty retainer."

This paragraph should stop her because the next point couldn't be less related. Now then. Jake's presenting style and the format of F1 on BBC is nothing like Top Gear in anyway, so I have no idea what on earth you're on about there. Jake was one of many presenters the BBC auditioned for the job and his salary is not particularly excessive. The BBC is not corrupt, please stop reading the Red Tops. You'll find more facts about our world in a a Harry Potter book.

"Also whose idea was it to make it so that if I'm still asleep at 6 AM, I get punished in the afternoon by not getting pre-race build up and in Malaysia I miss the first god damn 8 laps because it was a Safety Car Start? What the hell? If I have to use their laggy piece of crap iPlayer to watch a full race, I won't be able to keep tabs on the action as it jumps to halfway through the race."

That would be the License Payer, who expect the BBC to put out a variety of programming, meaning that since the BBC spends at least 3 hours on the live coverage, they can only fit in about 2 hours for the re-run. If they used the full 3 hours again, that's 1/4 of a broadcast day on one programme, and it's not necessary. By the time the re-run is on, buildup is pointless. If you want to see it, record the Live showing.

"Please, bring back ITV (Even with the ads!)!"

Methinks you've gone a bit mad. ITV's package was in no way better than the BBC's and inf act their coverage was massively less extensive than the BBC's. Going back to them makes no sense at all.

"If you agree with what I'm saying, post a message in support.
Also, post a message of support for a definite 2010 British Grand Prix. We poured the most money into the sport for crying out loud!
"

Nobody sane agrees with what you're saying (Which is actually a load of semi-related crap, the majority of which has nothing to do with your topic title).
Bernie's stubbornness on the British Grand Prix matter is well documented and has nothig to do with the BBC or Jake Humphrey. The British do not pour money into F1, however Britain is F1's de facto native territory. That said, France is the birthplace of Grand Prix racing (Clue is in the name, Grand Prix is French) and they are currently unrepresented. Britain needs to stop being quite so arrogant.

"Thanks in advance for any replies.
Sorry for the rant.
By the way, I'm a Vettel fan.
"

I think you meant to thank people for support, somehow I doubt you'll thank me for this post.
Here's a tip, if you're having to apologise for it and it's not just a courtesy for having written a great deal, you shouldn't have done it in the first place.
Supporting Vettel is great, but I'm not sure why its relevant to this topic. Mind you, since the majority of the rest of the post wasn't either, you might as well drop that in there.

I mean, considering how far off topic your original post is, I could start a conversation about marmalade and still make the case it's on-topic. Think before you post.

Hi welcome to the forum, your use of punctuation is quite interesting. For one thing I don't really understand what you mean by no race build up as I have watched all the races this year actually I can't remember when I last missed a race maybe it was 3 or 4 years ago and there has always been a race build up so I don't know why you think there is a lack of one. I don't mind Jake Humphrey sometimes I feel he dumbs down things a bit to much for a devoted F1 fan but then you have to consider that the majority of the people watching are just casual F1 fans. So far this year I think the coverage by the BBC has been to a very high standard considering it's their first time for quite a while. I don't see what the problem with iplayer is either I use it all the time without a problem I even use it at school to watch Friday practises I suggest you contact your ISP rather than blaming the BBC iplayer. The safety car start was also needed because the conditions were pretty bad and it would of been quite dangerous not to have one. I still think Lewis is an exceptional driver who has outperformed all his team mates one of which a was double world champion and with the exception of China he has driven brilliantly taking that dog of a car the MP4-24 into positions it really doesn't belong in.

p.s. I agree with what you said, the last part is slightly hazy, but there's some truth in it.

Ha Ha I agree. The same amount of points and wins is it 2nd places it comes down to?

Wasn't referring to the 2007 points finish

Hmm

Well if you agree he outperformed Alonso and he has definitely outperformed HK. His drives this year have been good with the exception of China. The MP4-24 is pretty awful and 4th is not where it really belongs. That only leaves "I still think Lewis is an exceptional driver" :yikes: guess it will be a while before it can be properly proven :P
