Were you there during the summertime? I hate the Salton sea, it always smells like rotten eggs in that area...

Yeah, was summer and yes, it always stinks to heaven. But the dates are yummy :)

El Centro? Oooh, bad memories, On one of my trips to date-land Salton Sea on my motorcycle, I almost got a heat stroke in El Centro. It was sooo hot! Driving at 100mph didn't help either, no cooling wind, more like sticking your head in a convection oven. And driving through El Centro, I've always thought: what a pit that place is.

Yeah...most would say El Centro is a hot pit :yikes: Nice in the wintertime though...and outstanding terrain for desert racing!

I used to go there every 3 months or so, so also in the 'winter'. For that summer trip however, I should have gone by car. I simply couldn't resist the nice bike bends in the mountains on the way there...

I didn't know that anyone said anything about the Aussies. :hehe: I thought the Americans worshiped us because of Steve Irwin's fake accent. Damn was I wrong.

Um, I've never been to Melbourne. Except for a 30 second stop over en route to Hobart - my home for 2 years. I loved Tasmania. :cloud9: And I miss it soo much. :(

We used to watch the Targa Tasmania cars parade into Wrest Point Casino. That was cool. I'd think that they'd have dirt races too. I remember one team in the parade holding a car's front bumper bar. That was their "car" for the parade, because they totaled it. :hehe:
