what about at night time? ive been to Thailand which is a tad further north and it rained at night there too!

A Malaysian night race makes perfect sense. Since KERS isn't really doing anything to save gas,having practice, qualifying and the race stopped due to Malaysia's daily monsoons will save a ton of gas. Bernie is so PC.

quite honestly, given how much lighting is used in Singapore GP last year, and the feedback from the drivers...
there isn't any great difference between a day race and a night race...
well, other than they have to sleep/eat in european time

The big problem in Malaysia isn't the amount of lights, it's the chance of rain. Typically it start raining in the early evening and lasts most of the night. As we learned this year, the later in the day they start the race, the more chance of not finishing the race. On top of that it's just another gimmick that F1 doesn't need.
