yep the teams are only allowed to straight line test. which is what i think Ferrari were doing there.

They are also allowed to do something like 5-10 normal circuit laps as a shake down before the a race weekend I think.

i find that kind of hard to enforce...
so the team has to stop collecting data once the car reaches the corner,
and turn the telementry back on at the straights?:confused::confused:
(EDIT: oops did see the last post, thanks Frosty)

of course, i assume they didn't use a drag strip to test their car

Interesting how the KERS teams are focusing on weight loss, where as the non-KERS teams (esepcially Brawn) are focusing on aero.

This could polarise the field even more, yet we'll probably see them even closer together. Quite exciting, in a weird way.

well alot of teams use runways at airfields to do the straight line tests but yeah it would be hard to stop testing illegally especially for a team like Ferrari who own their own track.

Photos of the F60B from Autosprint.
According to Marc Gene

"We can close the gap to Brawn at Barcelona, maybe we can even overtake them"
"The F60B has made the biggest aerodynamic progress I´ve ever seen at Ferrari"

Lets wait and see

The diffuser certainly didn't have that huge hole in it before, i don't think so anyway. :scratchchin:

Given how we see some teams go beyond traditional means to cover their double deck diffusers (i.e. Toyota, Williams)...
i am not surprised that the diffuser was not shown in those pictures,
i have a feeling that the diffuser will come during the GP weekend instead

but you would want to test it with the rest of the car would you not? given during that test it was a new diffuser! perhaps the DD diffuser wont come until after Spain.

Too many large changes at once without solving reliability answers is a recipe for disaster. I think McLaren has got the correct strategy, small and incremental. I fully expect Hamilton on the podium in Barcelona, followed by a dominating rest of the season. I expect Ferrari to back track some in Spain. If I was a betting man I'd almost be ready to call the season done and dusted.

I don't know, Ferrari have been talking as though this is one big b-spec update, so would expect all the updates to be stuck on.

Although, the way Mark Gene has been talking, ferrari being close to Brawn. You'd certainly suspect thats with the diffuser attached. Now whether or not Ferrari are blowing smoke is another matter. It doesn't make sense that they would blow smoke, because that would just make them look stupid come race day. But if it is true, it makes for an interesting fight back this year.

The thing is though, if those ferrari qualify well enough, say 4th place even. With KERS they'll blast of the start and maybe even into the lead, they won't actually need to be the fastest car in that respect. Lewis made it from 5th to 3rd after all.

I get the feeling the new Ferrari won't be fighting for wins though, but on the other hand. I'm hoping Massa can make it 4 times in a row at Istanbul
