Some 15 kgs lighter, a double diffuser and (a hopefully reliable) KERS, already testing to be in place for Barcelona.

Revised Ferrari makes Vairano debut
Lighter F60 package testing for Barcelona

Ferrari's heavily revised F60 made its track debut on Friday.
The new package, up to 15 kilograms lighter than the original 2009 version according to Italian reports, is undergoing straight line testing with Marc Gene behind the wheel.

The saved weight, in all areas including the material used for the seat belts, will benefit Ferrari's use of KERS, culminating in what they hope is a lap-time gain of several tenths.

The Italian team has already confirmed that the updated package will feature a double-decker diffuser.

The aerodynamic test at Vairano, Italy, will be completed on Saturday.

Hmm, with seemingly every team getting upgrades, it'll be interesting to see who makes the most ground - something to look forward to at Barcelona for the first time in years!

BMW should make big gains they can't get much worse than Bahrain can they?

Their finishing positions at Bahrain are not indicative of BMW Sauber's actual performance - both cars were running with quite a bit of damage.

Its interesting to note everyone's different development strategies. McLaren have been bringing dozens of small little upgrades. Apparently 12 small updates were at Bahrain. Whilst Ferrari have just been concentrated on the new car, as have Red Bull.

The real question is, will the new Fezza be any good. I mean, Ferrari haven't been out of Q3 yet. Of course there was Massa's slip up in Sepang, but no doubt he would've made Q3 if they had some sense that day and put massa on a 2nd run. I'm not saying Ferrari will be winning races, its more a question of dignity and how close will they be to the front and can they at least challenge for podiums. Or maybe we'll be shocked and they do win this weekend :hehe:

Really, Ferrari's problem has been reliability. Massa has had 2 breakdowns and one problem in Bahrain. Kimi had a problem in Australia and Malaysia. In my opinion massa is due some luck especially after China. So for the drivers sake, and my sanity, I hope the realisability's gone up.

McLaren should make some big adjustments too, if they want to contend for the championship.
Ferrari is looking pretty scary.

They have put new front wing new diffuser and loads of other upgrades.

Including some large body work changes like Ferrari doing look at F1Technical.net and Formula1.com Mclaren have been bringing more upgrades than anyone else and it shows with the results improving.

Haha, zing...

The problem with all the midfield cars is that you can only polish a turd so much.

But in Australia I will admit Lewis was pretty lucky with how retirements went and also the track is more suited to cars with very good mechanical grip which the McLaren does pretty well in as can be seen in the sector times of certain tracks, but in Bahrain there was only 1 retirement and that did not effect Lewis anyway it was a pretty standard race with Lewis getting that place partly by his skill but also his improved pace of his car. At the start of the season the McLaren was over 2 seconds off the pace now it's not more than half a second off the pace I think that shows substantial improvement.
