Having thought about this more, I think the stewards' decision needs to be explained in greater detail. Thus far Fisichella has not be penalised for blocking Yamamoto - remember Coulthard was penalised at Monaco for blocking Kovalainen and I know it's not allowed - so questions must be asked why not? But yet Alonso stops Hamilton from going and he and the team are punished! All the FIA have said is:

The attitude of the team at the end of qualification was considered prejudicial to the interests of competition and motor racing

which could mean anything. The stewards' decision could have a key impact on the title and certain things look very suspicious, especially given that Formula One is very political. As a result, the 'importance of public confidence' (remember Max Mosley, you tosser), the decision must be explained.

About it, i've seen that Fisichella braked to avoid a crash with another car which was proceeding very slow before him, just a few seconds before the arrival of Yamamoto, so he had'nt other chance. Maybe for this reason...

FA is cleared of any wrong doing by the stewards.

Darwin-dali, I am trying to use your way of thinking (or lack of it). Apparently, if you make up sh*t like the ferrai fans do, they'll believe you. Illusion is the game of life, you play it to beat the other. Read Forza's reply to understand what I said.

Now, about the Massa incident, I guess Ferrari should file a complaint with the FIA against McLaren. I mean think about it, Massa runs out of fuel during qualifications. It's impossible for Ferrari to make a mistake, therefore, it has to be McLaren. Maybe they have a spy among the Ferrari crew or they used some "stolen technology" to distract them

A bit precocious aren't we?

"The explanation given by Alonso as to why at the expiration of the 20 second period he remained in his pit stop position for a further 10 seconds is not accepted. The Stewards find that he unnecessarily impeded another driver, Hamilton, and as a result he will be penalised by a loss of 5 grid positions." Alonso told he could not enquire as to whether the correct set of tyres had been fitted to his car before, because of the countdown being given to him. But there is no reason to not communicate via radio with the team during the count down, is it correct?

Yes, that was BS and the stewards saw right through it.

Read the full decision by the stewards here:
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/61373

and you understand...
Now it's all clear: complicated, but clear.

I'm still unclear about the part which I quoted. Whether or not Hamilton was due in on that lap and why Alonso was held for twenty seconds irrelevant as Hamilton still would have been able to make his stop and get out had it not have been for Alonso remaining in the box.

Was this before Fisichella was about to start his flying lap? That is the incident I'm to which referring. As far as I, Allen and Hill saw it seemed as though Fisichella braked to hold off Yamamoto and on his outlap totally ruined Yamamoto's flying lap. If so you have to be punished.

The first angle of the camera, here too, showed only fisichella proceeding slowly and, by consequence, slowling Yamamoto (i was already thinking he was to punish). Only after some minutes, a reverse-angle camera showed him braking to avoid another car, before one of the last corner. But definitively, i can't say if he was to punish or not...

This is totally ridiculous. After 4 hours of deliberations, they were all cleared of any wrongdoing but than 30 minutes later they get penalized. I mean has everyone on top lost it or what. What new info have they received after they issued the 1st verdict that made them change their minds. I bet it's that a**hole Todt who called his b*tch Max and complained to him. This is disgusting. Non sense...

Can RD just retire please? He's lost control of his joint, he's overtaxed, the team makes amateurish mistakes - just go home RD and never come back!
its obvious what is going on here!!!....somebody from Mercedes is slipping some substance into wRONgs tea in the morning, and waiting for ron to go nuts, so that he sells all hes got left in McLaren to them for peanuts!!!!!....its blatant the man is suddenly going soft in the head!!!!!! im sure hes getting some extra medication that hes not even aware he is taking!!!!.....norbert and the wolfgangers are waiting in the background and giving ron just enough rope to hang himself with!!!!

It's my mistake, I misread this section from the reuters article:

"Four hours later, the official classification was issued showing no changes but at 23.35 p.m. local time (10:35 p.m. British time) stewards issued a statement changing that."

But how about investigating the Massa incident. Shouldn't ferrari be penalized?

I think being red faced and having FM on 14th in Hungary of all places is enough punishment for these dingbats.

There you go, probably the best written summary of the punishments you'll find anywhere on the net (not that i'm biased):

http://www.forumula1.com/2007/f1/f1-new ... ing-farce/

Anyway, the team punishment seems harsh. I understand that it's mostly for their 'attitude' following qualifying, whether they're as sick of Dennis as we are, or dumbfounded by his tactic to blame Hamilton for the whole debacle.
