8 people in the uk now been confirmed. and they are all people that have been to mexico dont seem to be spreading here.
and the WHO have increased the aleart level to 5 (a pandemic is imminant)
and who has seen the new advert it was on tv earler.

So I would expect death rates in the UK to be minimal. In countries with less-developed health services, where people might be forced to walk to neighbouring towns and villages for treatment in facilities that have only limited capacity, the death rate would likely rise significantly.
they just want loads of hype so everyone buys the paper

People seem to be responding to treatment so I don't think its the severity of the disease in particular that is the problem but rather the speed at which it has spread. The speed at which it spreads is definitely a major issue, but so long as treatment is readily available and, crucially effective, that shouldn't be too much of an issue. Once it spreads faster than treatment can be administered, however, it will be come a real problem. Vaccinations would help to reduce the possibility of that happening, as less people would have to be admitted in to hospitals for treatment of the disease.
