Slightly OT, but i read that Virgin 'own the rights' to Brawn's sponsorships like Marlboro at Ferrari, whereby they have a very big say in the other sponsors on the car, and they (Virgin) also recieve some of the sponsorship money. Anyone able to shed more light on that?

I thought that was the idea for next season and that this year Virgin was only paying £250k a race for the current space they occupy on the car or have I missed something out?

I have a feeling that Brawn had a hand in the slump in the global economy knowing that Honda would pull out of F1 and enable him to pull off this magnificent scam.

That's a proposed deal for next season. At the moment, Virgin pays $250,000 a race for their logos where they are. They're looking to gain Title Sponsorship in time for Spain, on a multi-year (Believed to be 3) deal.

How come Brawn managed to get the team and no one else?

I can imagine there is a HUGE list of people that would buy a team for 1 pound with no debt. Something doesn't make sense here guys. Honda would have been better off selling the team, if not selling all its equipment... I dont get it

Not really at the time the team had a history of under performance also even without debt it still costs a lot of money to run a F1 team. When Honda was on sale IMO the future of F1 was in quite a lot of doubt with manufactures threatening to pull out right, left and centre also the world economy heading into a big down turn this coupled with the high risk high cost investment that a F1 team it makes quite a lot of sense to me.

3) The FiA voluntarily waived the Entrant's fee, which is perfectly fair since none of the following for example had to pay it:

Renault, Red Bull Racing, Scuderia Toro Rosso, Jaguar Racing

I think you will find that the above teams where not new entries which Brawn have been made out to be. (I am not sure why they did not take over the Honda place)

That was my point.
