TRULLI! Excellent lap my son - fuel corrected he's still the fastest out there, no? My money would still go on Vettel for tomorrow though, unfortunately...

Good laps by Hamilton and Alonso too, especially Hamilton; although i think the Brawns will beat him in the race once their superior tyre treatment comes into play, hopefully it's gonna be a great battle on the track with KERS helping Hamilton out.

I'm not sure re tires i think with the hard compound he might be ok if he does the 1st stint on softs then switches to hard since its pretty resliant.

I actually take that back about the tyres - looks like some people think the softs are the tyre of choice, which changes everything...

Virgin in talks over bigger Brawn deal
Team and sponsor seek the right price, exposure
25/04/09 19:54

http://en.f1-live.com/f1/en/headlines/n ... 5437.shtml

Richard Branson is in Bahrain for negotiations about ramping up his sponsorship of the Brawn team.

The head of the Virgin brand said in Australia last month that he intended to rev-up his backing, but admitted on Saturday that he is now in competition with other companies interested in sponsoring the former Honda team.

"At the moment we are negotiating, as are other people, and we may or may not end up doing a full branding exercise," said the British billionaire.

Branson claims he is committed minimally to the current deal for the rest of 2009, but on the other hand hopes to up the stakes immediately – perhaps with full title sponsorship.

"But someone could come in and pay a silly price," he acknowledged. "If that happens, we will bow out gracefully. At the moment we've made an offer we feel we can afford.

"

Team boss Ross Brawn said his main hopes are for a multiple year deal and in Bahrain some of the Virgin branding on the car has been replaced with Virgin 'Galactic' logos.

No doubt to ensure headlines, Branson said Rubens Barrichello has paid $200,000 for a suborbital space flight, while triple world champion Niki Lauda wants to train to be a space astronaut. "When I saw this project I was the first knocking on the door."

This is the thing. The tyre's are head wrecking this weekend. But this is basically how it will work out. It depends on the temperature. If it's cooler like on friday, the softs will work well whilst the hard will take longer to heat up. However, if it's as warm as Saturday, the soft will wear out very quickly. But either way, Brawn have the advantage. Brawn are slow over a single run. Their pace will show during the race. Whether it's enough is another thing.

Surely the BMWs are one stopping. And most likely no-one else is.

will their tires survive the whole race?
