SpeedTV confirmed that Bernie wanted to double his asking price for the 2009 US GP to $30 million for one race (original $15mil) . Bernie was asked by SpeedTV that the 08 US GP attracted over 100,000 spectators vs. 70,000+ for the Silverstone GP (even with the LH frenzy) and it was a success. Bernie did nothing but tried to dance around the subject but he did confirmed that there will be no US GP in the immediate future. Ya no US GP in the immediate future until someone is willing to fork over $30million, 50% of ticket sales, and another $30million to resurface/or improve on an existing track, don't see that happening real soon. Its a big loss for US fans, maybe it will get better once Bernie's dead.
Silverstone is about to get scrapped, unless it can come up with the dough.

And remember that the 70,000 spectators at Silverstone were paying a LOT more for their tickets than the 100,000 US spectators. In pounds.

Lewis will save the British GP. If the worst comes to the worst and Silverstone loses it, would it go to Brands Hatch instead?

Is Brands Hatch up to Formula One standard? A deal was secured to spend £120 million on about five years ago but it fell through. For that money you could do a lot with Silverstone.

It hosted A1GP races but A1GP is not F1. They went to Hermanos Rodiguez as well... I miss that circuit.
