Pussycats lose Doll?

Nicole Scherzinger has quit the Pussycat Dolls, according to reports.

The singer plans to launch a solo career and will officially leave when the girl band complete the promotion of new album "Doll Domination".

There has been no official comment on the news although celebrity blogger Perez Hilton recently drew attention to latest single "Jai Ho", which was credited to 'Pussycat Dolls featuring Nicole Scherzinger'.

"The big reason most people believe is that Nicole has actually now LEFT the Pussycat Dolls but is still remaining with them until the 'Doll Domination' era is over", he wrote.

Scherzinger is rumoured to be considering making a record with her boyfriend, Formula One ace Lewis Hamilton.

i love the pussycat dolls!they all are wonderful. nicole didnt look like she wanna lead all the time which shows she didnt want to outshine others..its just their management chose her as the leader.. but that wasnt good little girls shouldnt want to be like them now. maybe in our 20s it would be alright when wer grown women.

The claws are out amongst the Pussycat Dolls with the Australia-bound pop group said to be on the verge of breaking up.

Entertainment websites reported rumours over the weekend that high-profile member Nicole Scherzinger is leaving the girl group to focus on a solo career.

Scherzinger, the girlfriend of F1 star Lewis Hamilton, is said to have already quit the Pussycat Dolls but will not make an announcement until finishing up a current world tour.

The rumours have come after the group released its version of songs "Jai Ho" and "Hush Hush" under the name "Pussycat Dolls featuring Nicole Scherzinger" instead of the usual "Pussycat Dolls."

The raunchy group is due to arrive in Australia next month as part of their international tour, but the concerts Down Under could be the scene of some awkward tension.

Simmering resentments within the group boiled over on stage when the Pussycat Dolls performed at Britney Spears' concert in the US city Pheonix on Friday, the New York Daily News reported.

Addressing the crowd during the set, group member Melody Thornton shouted: "Thank you for supporting me even though I'm not featured."

"You can do anything you want to do. Don't give up on your dreams and don't let anyone stop you - ever!" she told the crowd.
