"Jesus Christ, it was a very, very bad race," said Briatore. "I understand if you spin once, but this was kind of a contest: the more you spin the more points you have. He spun a lot but no points."

Who said that about which driver on our poll ? :hehe:

I wish it could have been Patrick Head about Crashajima, but it's obviously Flav about Senor Piquet. :hehe:

AWWWW WTF, I left the "Said Briatore" part in

I thought you left it in deliberately. :P

Sadly not, I wanted to make it a competition.
Oh well.
I've noticed you've been critical of Nakajima lately 7up. However i'm sure you'd still have him over Sato? Surely?

Somehow I have a feeling even Sato would be quicker than Nakajima, because he didn't do too badly in the winter tests. Sato at least sometimes has the balls to do crazy stuff and put the foot down.

What is disappointing me the most about Nakajima is that he is in a top 4 car and he doesn't get anywhere near the Q3 cut-off point whilst the likes of Buemi are managing to squeeze in. Last year when Nakajima wasn't doing so well was more understandable because he was a rookie who didn't know most of the circuits and the FW30 was a pile of garbage.

Sir Frank has set a target of a top 5 constructors title finish for this year. At the moment, Nico is practically the only driver in the team. Williams need somebody to push Nico and be there to either pick up the pieces when Nico drops out for some reason, punish Nico by qualifying ahead or finishing ahead of him and pick up double points if both cars finish in the points.

Yeah, I'd agree with that. Nakajima has shown some real pace, but he is very very inconsistent.
I mean take practice 2 at Silverstone the past year, he is the only driver I can remember to actually spin under the Bridgestone Bridge, before Bridge corner. Not even Piquet could top that (although I wouldn't be surprised if Piquet ends up somehow jumping that bridge this year.) :P
Am I wrong?

Yeah I thought "WTF" when I saw him crashing under the old "Daily Express" bridge (what's what it used to be known as) whilst watching his onboard on the Kangaroo TV unit. Same again when he crashed coming into the pits at Canada to change his front wing after running into the back of Button. Some of his results were a bit flukey as well, Monaco he only got into 7th because of very high attrition and Kimi being distracted by another Johnnie Walker billboard. He had a good race at Silverstone last year but his car had been optimised for wet weather.

Some of his gaffes are wilder than Piquet's at times.

Nakajima has shown pace! :yikes: Rosberg has thoroughly trounced him so far in that department.

All in all, he has shown some glimours of speed. Maybe they haven't been as strong as Rosberg's, but they have been slightly impressive.

Having looked on FORIX, Nakajima's practice times have been several tenths of a second slower than Rosberg's. Nakajima's race pace is even worse: anything from 1.8 to 2.2 seconds per lap slower depending on the circuit. I checked Piquet's times as a comparison and found he's got slightly closer to Alonso than that!

Hmm. It sounds as though I've given Piquet more praise than I meant to. When I said was closer to Alonso, I really didn't mean that much. He was 1.8 seconds off Alonso's pace in Australia and 1.9 in China. He did manage to only be 0.3 off in Malaysia, which he claimed was his favourite track. His practice times are up and down. In fact, sometimes he's slightly faster than Alonso, but that doesn't reveal Alonso likes to try out new things etc. in those sessions. So, if Piquet's only claim for not being the worst driver this season is his race pace is only 1.8 to 1.9 seconds off his team-mate instead of of 1.9 to 2.2...

Nakajima lies bottom of the Championship with Piquet ahead by merit of a marginally (1 Place) lower Position total.

They're both pretty dismal.
