:hehe: Wind em up and watch em go...

It's hard to believe that this 2nd is Webber's best result ever!

I can't see it staying that way for too long. Imagine how the race could have turned out if he'd not been behind anyone during the race!

The race itself was decent, but completely spoiled by starting under the safety car, and then remaining out under the safety car for far too many laps.

First, congratulations to Red Bull. Vettel and Webber both in good laps and their cars were the fastest of the weekend. Their reliability woes didn't strike again, which was nice, especially for Webber. Vettel is a class act. He's a supreme talent and a decent fellow. He hasn't let fame go to his head, unlike some others.

Brawn won't be too disappointed about coming third and fourth. The conditions were tricky, they didn't know the car's performance in the wet weather and they were clearly second-best this weekend. I'm rather pleased about them not winning actually, as although it's still early doors, I would not have been too surprised to see them winning most races this season, possibly doing another 1988.

Ferrari are an absolute shambles. It makes me feel a little better about McLaren's performance. Whereas the MP4-24 isn't fast enough, the F60 isn't a lot different and the team are making all sorts of screw ups and desperado moves. Ferrari's worst start since 1981 as well. Dreadful stuff.

I think McLaren have made some good progress. I'm still not sure how realistic it is for the team to be competing for wins towards the end of the season. Even if the car significantly improves, Brawn seem to be so far ahead. Moreover, if the WMSC dish out another draconian punishment, the team should focus on 2010. Kovalainen drove a quiet but solid race today. Hamilton was an embarrassment. You wouldn't have Senna off as many times as he was.

Buemi showed some good potential today. He made some schoolboy errors, but showed some strong pace and was quite brave. I must admit to be surprised about him. Bourdais really needs to get his act together, though. Although he showed enough potential for a drive this season, he now needs to step up, especially as he's teamed with Buemi, who most would say was not worthy of his seat based on GP2 performances.

Piquet had another nightmare weekend. It's time for Renault to face facts. Piquet is not getting the job done. Standards are high in Formula One. It's time for him to be shown the door.

I think it's a shame that both cars appeared to have problems today (well, Massa's certainly did). Had Massa's car not died, I think he'd have finished ahead of the McLarens. He was running well today.

However, you're right. Ferrari are at the bottom of the constructors' tables, below Force India. What's more embarrassing for them is that Sutil nearly took two points today whilst they would have had nothing. The team really need to pick up their game, develop the car and stop making mistakes or else they will be looking at a season that would be almost impossible to believe given what they achieved between 1999 and 2008.

Massa, i have to say, probably had a chance to finish around the Brawns. but god! what on earth is going on with that car?!! he was in a strong position before he DNF'd.... what a disappointment for Ferrari. Massa was still good with his race pace though.

Nonetheless, Vettel is on his way to more race podiums, or even wins this year i can see...
Could any teams have a thought of picking Vettel up? Perhaps Ferrari?

Red Bull will likely keep him for next year at least. If they can stay up front, even longer. The team with the most realistic chance of getting him is BMW Sauber, he is one of their major investments.

why would he leave Redbull for Ferrari given the current state? He well win the title this year if Redbull get a double diffuser!

congrats to Redbull congrats to Vettel (new rain meister) and congrats to my compatriot Webber!

That's not necessarily true. If Newey has to compromise that fantastic rear-end too much to fit a diffuser, I could see them remaining at the same level.

absolutely, that new diffsuer feels like a wild car for the RBR,
which could make or break the cars i think...

With the diffuser and the least amount of change to the rear-end, they could become the fastest team. But it all depends on the developments that Brawn and Toyota are coming up with.

I was dead certain that he was going to move to BMW after RBR and then a potential move to Scuderia. But if RBR constantly out-score BMW this season he won't be moving to BMW and in all honesty the way Ferrari are going he won't be moving to them either...
