You guys cant be serious.

Are you trying to tell me if you were the owner of a team and were spending millions of your own money you wouldnt seriously want the CURRENT world champion on your team.
Dont make me laugh :hehe:

...Okay, it's painfully clear to me you understand and know nothing about motor racing, so I'm just going to ignore you now.

Bye :wavey:

Actually the team principals voted lewis best driver at the end of last season, which would suggest they would want him on their team world champion or not, as they tend to want the best driver on their team. What is a seperate issue, is would they want to take a new driver mid season, probably not though I suspect some would jump at it.
Its all hypothetical anyway as i dont believe lewis has said he's going anywhere.

In the short time I've been a member of this forum I've detected a fair bit of anti-L.H. feeling. What's the problem? The guy is talented. If you don't like him then fine. But why the bitching?

And hopefully it's history but why the references to race and sexual persuasion? Is F1 the sole remit of white heterosexual males?

Well actually I know that answer coz L.H. ain't white.

I'm going to introduce you to a concept here.

It's called "positive discrimination" and it is the practice of favoring members of a historically disadvantaged group at the expense of members of a historically advantaged group.

In essence, by going out of your way to accuse anyone who dislikes Lewis of doing so because he is black, when there is no evidence that that is the case, is itself racist. A minority of members have made mis-guided comments. You have accused all of us who do not choose to jump on the Lewis bandwagon of being racists. That is insulting and as an argument, flawed.

For all you know, half the people you are talking to could well themselves be black.

As to your leading point "why the bitching", this is a message board. It is for discussion and debate. Lewis receives heaps of praise, and also criticisms. It's perfectly natural on a forum which is general interest F1 to have dissenting views on 1 driver. If you don't like it, go find a Lewis fansite, because this is a forum where people of all opinions on F1 get to discuss and debate issues.

And please, if you're going to accuse our members of being racists, that goes double.

Once again, someone has completely missed the point and responded with complete irrelevance. One more time, since none of you seem to be getting it:

Being considered the best due to a World Championship or even being voted the best in relation to a single year does not make you the best choice driver in every situation. Lewis is not a better choice for Brawn GP than Barrichello because of Brawn's situation.

Please, in future read the points you are disputing.

Same as Denthul, I get sick of people wondering why I dont support someone like Lewis... 'But hes British' SO WHAT ? Just because Im British and he is British does not mean that I am bound to him and must support him.

Also please please shorten the quoting

And if you'd read my post correctly you'd have noticed this part

"What is a seperate issue, is would they want to take a new driver mid season, probably not"

Do I have to spell out that in Brawn's case a mid season swap would not be an ideal move? Get over your problem with Lewis and do as you request others to do. Read posts properly!
And I dont think you're being fair to the previous poster, this is an F1 forum and there have been far too many political arguements on it.

I did read that part, and it does not change the fact that your assertion that they would want Lewis at all is not accurate, because he is the wrong choice for Brawn GP.

My problem with Lewis is that he is overhyped and a spoiled brat - until that changes, I do not intend to "get over it". Those are just two of the reasons I think he is the wrong choice for Brawn, as you would know if you'd actually read my argument.

I'm not sure what you're talking about with that last sentence. What I said to the previous poster was to stop accusing members of our forum of being racists. I'm not going to dispute your assertion, but I fail to see in what way it renders my wish that people stop accusing those who dislike Lewis of being racists "unfair".

I'm sick to death of people who like Lewis telling those of us who do not that we should "let it go" or "get over it" or whatever. He has mountains of praise and support, a bit of dissent is not a bad thing. Quite aside from which, if he is brought up - particularly when he has done wrong or when he is being pumped up as great, it is quite obvious he is going to take criticism.
