you can replace runflats with normal tyres, I believe at a fraction of the cost. TBH I would rather pay less per tyre and have a tyre in a can available

Im just sussing out the BMW at present but if you replace the runflats doesnt that activate a warning icon?....just wondering as it seems to easy?

I have always preferred the 5's over the 6's espeacially the older M5. I want one and would drop in a turbo .

Tex the 5 series am I right is basically the same as the 6 series only with 2 doors and the chasis is basically the same.
Thats what I was told but they look entirely different ?

I'm not an expert on runflats (in fact I know very little - I'm happy to run a basic car with no frills) but I think there are two types of sensor that both effectively send a message to the mothership when a tyre is deflated. One sits inside the tyre and detects a drop in pressure and sends a message to the mothership. The other is like an ABS sensor and detects a change in the speed of rotation of the wheel and sends the message out.

Swapping over to bog standard tyres would certainly seem to be okay on the former case as there wouldn't be a sensor inside the tyre. Dunno about the ABS type sensor.

Yes that is what I have heard aswell I just like the 'sleeper' look of the 4-door 5 series, I'm like that I dont know why !

You have the right idea, but it's the other way around. The M6 is basically a restyled M5 with 2 doors instead of 4.

I'm going to look at a '99 M3 tomorrow, I luv my '02 4Runner but it is time to get back into a sports car. The M3 is $10K with 111K miles and my 4Runner's value is also $10K at 111K miles but I am ready to move on. Although the M3 is black, not my favorite color, it is just as reliable as my 4Runner and the maintenance cost are basically equal. If I do take this leap atleast I'm happy that it will be thru a certified dealer who can rectify any misleading's. They can also takeover the balance that I owe on the 4Runner so everything stays the same except for the vehicle

Look what I just found! A YouTube video of the exact car I'm going to look at today and yes it's dirty but I'll see how well she cleans up and get the service history, wish me luck bud ! I only say that because bud knows I cannot make my mind up about what car I should get .

No one I'm related to could afford anything more pricey than a 20 year old rusted Yugo, but my neighbour is on his third 3 series ragtop, an 07 335. I drove it and it's great and quick and comfortable, and because it's German, and therefor hewn from a solid block of granite, it makes no noises and does not wallow anywhere. However I have no frame of reference to evaluate any of its qualities in the road feel department. Let's just say it handles better than a Yugo.

Hats off to Momentum BMW of Houston because they actually showed some integrity. When I went to see and drive the car we could not find it and after alittle research the dealer had pulled the car because it needed $6K worth of work. Their integrity showed in that they did not want to burden a potential buyer with huge p/m cost. I recieved alot of advice from the M3 forum as to what to inspect and had arranged a PPI with my mechanic but they saved me the hassle and $100.

I'm not disappointed one bit and will continue to look for one in the future.

Just got off the phone to my dad, turns out he just got an M5... didn't see that one coming.
