Wow, I see a lot of frustration going on in here. Well, I've been on the sidelines for a long time but I've got to say something because I can't take it anymore.

Just to set things straight, I was a Senna/McLaren fan. I never liked MS/Ferrari but respect the man's talent and skills.

I've been very upset with Mclaren over the past couple of years because of their blind support to Hamilton. I'll say it and I don't care who will get upset. Hamilton will bring Mclaren down, maybe indirectly. It's their full support for Hamilton that will cause them a lot of pain in the years to come. Yes, he is a talented driver but so are others. That support/love affair is very painful to Mclaren and I hate to see that happening. I want them to be on top and be scandal free.

Bring back the Mclaren that all of us liked. Get ride of Hamilton and bring in someone who can do the job and doesn't go out of the line. Mclaren has 2 drivers not 1 & 1/2. Someone started a thread about Alonso being vindicated and I guess that's right. It seems that Mclaren is willing to do anything for Hamilton (including lying and if you lie once you can lie again). What the HECK? Seriously, who the heck is Hamilton after all...I'll leave it to that.

Like you, Fact Man, I am getting disillusioned with McLaren because of Hamilton. There have been rumblings of his getting preferential since 2007, but I was always prepared to cut the team some slack, given Hamilton's relationship with McLaren. In 2007, Alonso was no angel, but I suppose I'll cut him a little more leeway than I used to. But now things have reached a tipping point. If there's one thing that's really annoyed me about this scandal, it's not the actual offence itself, as it was fairly venial, in the sense that this kind of thing has been going on for ages, and there were mitigating circumstances. What I am deeply disappointed at is McLaren's bending over backwards to protect Hamilton. Some great people have taken are going to take the bullet for him, and Hamilton himself is one of those shooting at them. Hamilton should be allowed to leave, the management should wise up about Hamilton, or the management should be completely replaced. Also like you, Fact Man, I want the old McLaren back from when I started watching Formula One. The days when McLaren had the best drivers on the grid and allowed them to race one another and didn't give any of them special employee status. Following McLaren from 2007 onwards has really been like following another team.

I thought you're meant to be a teacher, so I'd expect you to be able to read. I'm not abandoning McLaren, but I am getting frustrated with its love in for Hamilton.
