If I were running McLaren, I'd start making inquiries for other drivers right away. No one person is bigger than the team. The employees do not dictate to the employers.

1. Good job you're not running McLaren then.

Or maybe they need McLaren Fan in charge? There were less of these major controversies before Lewis was driving for the team. :P

Thanks all the same but I think McLaren will do fine without him :)

In that case, it's time to decide what the next McLaren controversy will be labelled. :D

If Hamilton wanted to leave McLaren, where would he go?

Brawn? That's too much of an obvious choice.
Williams? I don't think the team could afford Hamilton's wages, especially if Nico's going to re-sign for 2010.
Toyota? They have eternal faith in Trulli and Glock, the days of Ralf making them look stupid are over.
Red Bull? Possible, Hamilton would relish the challenge of dueling Vettel, but Webber would have to make way.
Ferrari? That's been done to death already.
BMW? I really cannot see Hamilton in a BMW.
Renault? Is that a joke? Hamilton would have to accept a number 2 driver role and get prodded by Pat Symonds every 5 minutes!
Toro Rosso? If Hamilton wants to try and pull off a Vettel that's his bag.
Force India? Now we're getting silly, unless Hamilton wants to race with his best friend Sutil.
One of the so-called "new teams entering next year"? Hamilton should look at what happened to Emerson Fittipaldi before he tries this!!
Penske? Hamilton's gone off to IRL!

USGPE? He could end up being number-two to Danica Patrick of all people! :hehe:

Ah yes, of course. I keep forgetting about her. I have to say, though, she's not exactly the kind of woman that would stick in my mind for any reason...

I doubt that he would of really wanted to continue but if had then I don't think McLaren would of let him.

Actually, you're remembering it wrong. Ron was sorry that their relationship had gotten to that point and said he would let Alonso leave if that's what Fernando wanted. Fernando badly wanted out, so took the option to quit.

He was not kicked out, he jumped.

He threatened Ron. From that point on he was leaving.
