Having seen the behind the scenes workings of McLaren and Hamilton I feel that Alonso can have a certain amount of vindication with the recent events. Hamilton is a liar full stop. Could you imagine what it would have been like trying to work in that team for Alonso? They are cheats and dont deserve to be in the comp, I say kick them out. McLarens proud history and reputation is now a running joke. And sacking Ryan is an even bigger joke.....as if management didn't know what was going on........ ppffft!!!!

Hamilton has lied, yes, but Alonso is one of the biggest cheats in Formula One history, having been one of the central figures in the spy scandal.

Alonso is a Brilliant driver and I think the 2007 Hamilton, Alonso line up was one of the most talented in many years but Alonso is still a huge cheat.

No.
But kicking the big Claren out would be an awful choice, even though I want them to do awful.
The UK would get hardly any viewers, or at least back to the old days, when Goldenboy werent here.
Although if we get a JB bandwagon going...

I dont think anyone amongst us knows exactly what happened within Mclarean during the 07 season; nor what went on during the 09 australia thing...
We are all manipulated by the media and those deceiving documents called 'statements' as much as by our own subjective views.

So.. whatever the outcome, i wouldnt judge Lewis based on this incident as i dont judge Alonso by what we have heard about the spy issue.

Let these guys race. Solve the issues with transparency and away from the media... and let us watch the good racing.
Like the one that almost happened at Sepang... that race had 'classic' written all over it (Brawn being... oppresively dominant aside)

@ gilles27, get your facts straight: Alonso was involved in obtaining and testing secret Ferrari information in 2007. That is cheating.

@McLaren Fan

Alonso is not a cheat. End of.

+1 Alonso is no cheat.

Lying to the media is one thing, which nearly every driver is guilty of (such as Alonso) but lying to the FIA is just plain stupid, its shows a total lack of sportsmanship from Hamilton & McLaren. I would not be surprised if McLaren are removed from the constructors championship this year.

No he was driving for the "team" that obtained the Ferrari information just like Hamilton. Unlike Hamilton he left that team, who have once again been caught cheating.

No. Alonso and de la Rosa were sending and receiving text messages and e-mails about Ferrari's technical data.

And how did the FIA find out about that? Was it Alonso who told the FIA about it when asked if he knew anything about the case? Yes i think it was. And it was simply knowledge of the data was being being held by McLaren. He had nothing to do with the data being obtained or ever being tested. That is wild speculation right there and if it was ever deemed to be true Ferrari would never consider signing Alonso which we all know they are.
