What do you think Ferrari's directors thought when they saw Kimi eating a Magnum popsicle, drinking a Coca-Cola and wearing shirt, short and flip-flop's while all other drivers were concerned about the race's re-start ?

I thought he was really anti-professional, like really careless about Ferrari's aims.

I think he was thinking "The circuit is a river with like 40 minute to go and it's still raining hard, my car is basically busted and we're slow as crap anyway...Sod it."

The Scuderia is doing poorly and Kimi is his own man. He's not gonna sit in a half-functional car, waiting for a re-start he knew wasn't likely to come.

I want to hear the radio transmissions, I reckon the team must've told him there was only 1 magnum left in the fridge.

Other than that I totally agree Jensonb and don't see why he's getting a hard time from anyone here.

I'm in no way a Kimi fan, but I have to say this is my Favorite Kimi move to date. Everyone else is soaking wet from Sweat and warm rain, and Kimi's in a dry garage having an Ice cream. Even if the race restarted, and Ferrari put him back in He wouldn't have been in a bad spot, The car was dry Kimi was Dry and cooled down and a loss of 1 position.

It's beginning of the day - In Terms Of the season -
things will pick up with more controversies on the way. The season will pick up, but while my team seem to pick it self up backwards. I'm putting my money on the young German at the moment, that boy has plucked my heart. He will be the ever needed Tifosi we need to pick us up with his boyish good lucks and talent that seems to run thru his fingers. He has made a huge impact and is putting the so-called Webber under allot of trouble :) it's getting interesting for me. As I now don't only depend on Kimi Or Massa I can also turn to the little Vettel for a bit of fun :)

- Kimi -
Kimi is a talented driver that can handle any situation, he has had it tough and I think he has got it all? Big salary? Amazing team? And some people that see the sun shine thru his arse :hehe: he has a title and has nothing to prove as critics do call him a F1 ace? :detective: while I look into the Iceman he is at the moment proving to have the pace, but when it comes down to strategic wise? Ferrari are not the masters at the moment in which people will be dropping the Ferrari flag quicker than I can drop my money to buy a Big Mac. It's early days and people including myself are becoming too judgemental. I think in the end the diffuser will be over? And JB's win days will be over.... Just hope too many people are not riding on this little cloud.

The sight of Kimi with a popsicle, chilling out like that... really worth it, I had a good laugh! :hehe: I honestly feel that Kimi's supposed lack of motivation is just another story created and inflated by the media. He doesn't talk much and it's easy to write such things about him. I even remember an interview with a Ferrari employee last year in which he played down Kimi's lack of pace saying that the '08 car was not suited to his driving style.
I don't mean to defend Raikkonen, both he and Massa are good drivers. I just think that in F1 it's the car quality that decides it all. This year's Button is a good example, he's a good driver and yet he could do little with an underperforming Honda. To be fair we should compare drivers only with their teammates.
Of course we have the usual exceptions, namely Nelson Piquet... he so remembers me of Barrichello and Irvine's days with Schumacher, I feel for him :D

I would rather have a cool driver like that than Massa's crazy ranting on the radio.

They get a 10 minute warning and he could have easily put on his gear to get back into it if he wanted. However, the fact that they wheeled his car away to the garage likely means there was some problem and he was not going to go back out anyway so at that point he knew there was no reason to wait around in the rain.

Because it's called an OPINION from somebody who also gets their info from outside of the 'inner circle of F1'. Why is your OPINION concerning this fiasco more right than his? What I'm trying to explain to you is neither you or him have the true facts only your opinion, right???????????

Tex, I think you over-mod sometimes...

Kimi is just about my favourite personality that has been in F1 since I have been watching it (since about 1993). He's just so at odds with the conventions of modern F1 driver robotics...

i wouldn't say he was reckless, i think he was having a chillax and didn't think the race would resume.
