Ratings in Europe are up for the Malaysia GP, stupid Bernie

T.V ratings where up, right along with dissapointed Fans, Drivers, and Teams. It's obvious nobody wants to finish a race this way, and obvious that Bernie couldn't care less what anyone else thinks as long as he makes more money...
Great for Bernie bad for F1 racing...

Obviously got every body talking about it, from blogs to around water coolers, even the US media is talking about the wild event that took place in Malaysia. I know for a fact, everyone is looking forward to China GP, no one will stop watching. Marketing 101- there's no such thing as bad publicity, publicity is publicity. Stupid Bernie

You must be a Nascar fan too. because you obviously care more about the media and the hype than you do about actual
racing. Bernie is not stupid when it comes to looking after his own interests in F1 ( The TV rights), He is a a complete bottom when it comes to what the Drivers,Teams, ( die hard F1 fans) and race promoters want.

You haven't watched a NASCAR race, have you? I don't watch the races regularly because I don't like the cars, but the racing action can be mad.

How did get into my head and now what I am thinking :wavey: You must got some great technology to do that  . Have you been stalking me all these years to know what I am thinking and that I actually cared more about the media then racing?? Are you that guy that keeps driving his Yugo back and forth late nights in front of my house?? O.K put that gator down and lets get back to the topic. Everything is media blitz, no media, no buzz, no buzz no money, no money no teams. The question that was raised is Bernie is stupid, do you really thing Bernie is stupid?? Stupid laughing all the way to the bank.

I got to say, he's not financially stupid, but he is fan-stupid. Or better said, he seems not to give a damn about the fans.

Oh I have and I've spent several Daytona 500s working for NASCAR, It's racing for the sake of marketing, and that's my issue with it. Of course it's mad because it's all contrived to be mad. The Organizers want Crashes and mayhem more than they want to see actual racing. example. Mandatory yellow flags :bs: Nascar doesn't let anyone win by a margin of over 2 seconds, it's bad for the fans.. Nascar is to racing, what WWF wrestling is to boxing. The perfect example is the Winner's Circle, grown men celebrating by spraying everyone with Gatorade (place driver's sponsor here) How totally infintile, Since when do grown men celebrate large moments in their lives with Gatorade (place driver's sponsor here) "I got that promotion to partner let's celebrate with a bottle of Gatorade" (place driver's sponsor here). " Happy New year, Lets uncork that Pepsi" (place driver's sponsor here). The other thing that I think is funny and odd is that not one NASCAR fan can explain to me what the drivers get points for during a race weekend and how many points they get. They don't generally know because they don't care they just want to see huge crashes.

Your Paranoia obviously is clouding your reading skills they have medication for that. You quoted me as saying "Bernie is not stupid in regards to his own interests in formula 1". He just doesn't Give a care about what F1 is supposed to be " The pinnacle of racing". But I guess I shouldn't expect much from someone who thinks a drifting mustang is a good avatar for an F1 site... :D

That's the reason I watch Amercan LeMans, pure racing for the fans but there's a problem. Every year there's talk about scaling back the events and teams are dropping out, there's no buzz, there's no exposure for it to survive, but I do love the M3 GTR. As for WWF, years ago when I was a waiter, I waited on a table of WWF fans, Billy Bob and his son Jethro was having dinner before heading out to the arean to watch WWF, they asked me who I think will win and become Champion that night. I looked at them and said, "Isn't it already decided by the promoters??, because its not real". They had that dumbfound look on their faces.

Quote you? First you like to tell people what I think because you know what I think for some reason, they are you putting words in my mouth. I never quoted you saying "Bernie is stupid", I said the subject of this discussion is "bernie is stupid" , lets get back to the subject and I asked if you think "Bernie is stupd". As for my Mustang, don't hate at least I have the skills to do it, because its kind of hard for you in that swamp with that motorhome. Don't hate

Wow you are confused. When you hit that button that says "Quote" you're quoting me and what I wrote. I in no way shape or form said anything about what you think ( that's your own paranoia that needs medication). I never said I hated your mustang (paranoia) but drifting is not racing it's ballet with cars. (My kids think it's cool.) Nice to know you're a bigot also, I live in Florida I must live in a Motorhome and i guess the 24 hours of Daytona and the 12 hours of Sebring were won by a Winabego. And for the record I race on real race tracks with the SCCA not in parking lots doing donuts.

Having a night race in a country which undergoes tropical storms on a daily basis was madness. Things were always going to work out as they did this morning. Also, I don't want another night race. One is nice a novelty, but I don't feel we need any more.

 They just need to make the race a couple of hours earlier!

But it went well enough didnt it?
It also adds to the atmosphere, and is a major plus point for Singapores tourist industry.
If you can do it, why not ?

The only thing about drifting that I dislike is that the races are too short. They should come up with a different, longer-lasting format, but that's my opinion. I won't diss the skill needed to drift a car with precision.

Its not the format being short, its the REAR TIRES not lasting. I've taken a few autocross classes in my M3 and had a chance to drive Laguna Seca a few times being a BMW CCA member, but drifting is freaking hard. You are constantly pushing the car and its rear tires to the max while balancing it and not hitting the walls. Drifting is like soccer, its boring to watch but more fun if you play.
